The UFC will close out 2016 with a strong card at UFC 207 in Las Vegas on December 30 headlined by Ronda Rousey taking on Amanda Nunes. It has been more than a year since we have seen Rousey in action so everyone will be wondering how the former champ looks in this title fight against Nunes. This bout is just one of a number of marquee matchups for UFC 207 as also on the card are Dominick Cruz vs. Cody Garbrandt and Fabricio Werdum vs. Cain Velasquez.

Amanda Nunes vs. Ronda Rousey
Rousey has not fought since November of 2015 when she was pounded by Holly Holm. Rousey was completely dominant in her career before that fight so it will be interesting to see if that loss to Holm changed her or if it was just a blip in her career.
Rousey is listed as a -180 favorite at BookMaker.eu with Nunes at +155 and the rounds at 1.5 under -225.
Rousey will not be getting an easy matchup as she goes against current bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes who said that she has a “200% chance of winning” against Rousey. Nunes said she has been waiting for this fight for a long time. "This is the moment I've been waiting for," Nunes said, "I've been training for Ronda Rousey since my first fight in UFC."
Dominick Cruz vs. Cody Garbrandt
Another title fight at UFC 207 will have bantamweight champion Cruz taking on the unbeaten Garbrandt. This matchup has been a long time coming as Garbrandt has been running his mouth for the last six months.
Cruz won the title in January against TJ Dillashaw and defended the title with a win over Urijah Faber in June. Garbrandt is 10-0 in his career including 5-0 in the UFC. He is coming off a win over Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 202.
Cruz and Garbrandt have been in a war of words for months so this should be an exciting fight for as long as it lasts. “I got a 90-perecent knockout rate.” Garbrandt said, “You want to talk about statistics? That's what he talks about, stats. That's numbers, buddy. He wants to talk about numbers because he's a point fighter, and point fighters go off numbers and points. I'm a knockout artist and he's going to be on the receiving end of a vicious knockout."
Cruz had a good response to Garbrandt’s big talk saying, "Let his people keep on building that false sense of confidence that they are all instilling into his psyche over this period, it's good for him. I kill hype for a living."
Fabricio Werdum vs. Cain Velasquez
It was just over a year ago at UFC 188 when Fabricio Werdum shocked Cain Velasquez to win the UFC heavyweight title. These two will now be fighting again at UFC 207 although a title will not be on the line. The winner of this fight will probably get a future title shot against current champion Stipe Miocic.
Werdum lost the title to Miocic at UFC 198 but he bounced back to beat Travis Browne at UFC 203. Velasquez has fought just once since losing to Werdum last year as he beat Browne at UFC 200.
Johny Hendricks vs. Neil Magny
The former welterweight champion, Hendricks faces what is probably a must-win fight to stay in the UFC as he faces Magny at UFC 207. Hendricks has lost three of his last four fights while Magny has won 10 of his last 12 bouts.
Tarec Saffiedine vs. Matt Brown
Saffiedine has dropped two of his last three fights while Brown has lost four of his last five fights.
Tim Means vs. Alex Oliveira
Means has been very consistent in his UFC career winning six of his eight fights while Oliveira has won five of his seven fights.
Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Marvin Vettori
Antonio Carlos Junior has been up and down in his UFC career with two wins, two losses and a no contest while Vettori is coming off a win against Alberto Emiliano Pereira at UFC 202.
