Each and every year, you can tab the Wisconsin Badgers as Big Ten contenders. You know they're going to run the heck out of the football and play good defense, and even though we are in a day and age of the run and gun and scoring 40 points to win games, the Badgers are anything but. They should keep that up again in 2015.... 

The boosters believed that Charlie Strong was going to make the Texas Longhorns immediate national powers once again in his first year at the helm in Austin.Instead, he ruffled a bunch of feathers by kicking player after player off of the team. The Longhorns are tougher now for it, and they should show improvement from last season's 6-7 campaign.... 

After years and years of mediocrity, the Nebraska Cornhuskers decided to part ways with Bo Pelini. Whether they made the right decision in firing their coach remains to be seen, as we feel as though Nebraska is nothing more than what it has essentially been over the course of the last few seasons.... 

Last year was the year for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. They had their chance to get into the first ever CFP, and they were legitimate National Championship contenders under Dan Mullen.They didn't get the job done though, and they were beaten in three of their last four games. Now, they return a total of just nine starters from last year's crew and will have a lot of rebuilding to do in a hurry.... 

It's the dawn of a new era of Florida Gators football. The Will Muschamp era, one which will absolutely be remembered as a disaster, is said and done with.Jim McElwain will try to put some life into a stagnant offense, though it would be unfair to expect him to do so right away in Year 1.... 

There was only one school in America which had fewer seniors graduate than Arizona State. That's one of the many reasons why there are lots of pundits out there who believe the Sun Devils might ultimately win the Pac-12 and have an outside shot of getting into the CFP.... 

It's tough to believe that it has been 14 years since the Tennessee Volunteers were anywhere near relevant.That was the last time they won 11 games in a season, and it has been 17 years since the team has won the National Championship. If the Vols are going to get back to relevance though, this is the year for it to happen.... 

Big Blue Nation finally might have a reason to smile again. After searching long and hard for the right coach, the Michigan Wolverines might finally have their "Michigan Man" in Jim Harbaugh.Whether he can work miracles and put the Wolverines back on the map immediately in 2015 remains to be seen, though.... 

Bret Bielema said last season time and time again that the Arkansas Razorbacks will win some of these close games in the SEC when they truly deserve to do so.They finally got it together at the end of the year and shut out both LSU and Ole Miss at home to get into a bowl game, where they beat Texas to finish above .500.... 

Had Brett Hundley come back to school for his senior season, the UCLA Bruins probably would have been the favorites in the Pac-12 as well as a favorite to win the National Championship as well. As it is, Hundley left school early for the NFL, and this is now a team which feels like it is a quarterback away from contending.... 

The SEC West is a nightmare to try to win games in, and there is a lot of respect nationally for all of these teams. The Texas A&M Aggies might not start off the season ranked in the Top 10 in America, but if Kevin Sumlin's crew plays up to its potential, this could be a fantastic season in Lubbock.... 

David Shaw should be given a ton of credit for the way he’s kept the Stanford Cardinal on solid ground even in the post-Jim Harbaugh era. Last year was a bit of a disappointment at 8-5, but with 10 starters coming back to the team on offense, there is a real chance to be a Pac-12 contender once again in 2015.... 

Bo Wallace might now be gone, but many believe that this could be the year that the Ole Miss Rebels legitimately contend for a National Championship anyway.... 

Week 12 of the AFL season kicks off with a huge Southern Division battle, as the Tampa Bay Storm hope to keep their division title hopes alive against the Jacksonville Sharks.... 

It's amazing to think that there is still a lot of clamoring out there for Bob Stoops to be fired from his job with the Oklahoma Sooners. Yes, it has been a while since the Sooners have been relevant, but they’ve consistently been a good team with spurts in his tenure in which they had the best team in America.... 

The Florida State Seminoles have unequivocally had the best two-year run in college football. They haven't lost a regular season game since 2012, and they have a National Championship and a spot in the CFP to show for their work.... 

When Brian Kelly brought his Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the National Championship Game a couple seasons ago, he did so with a ton of seniors and a lot of good fortune. This year, he has senior starters all over the field once again, and many believe that there is a legitimate chance for the Golden Domers to qualify for the CFP as a result.... 

The Baylor Bears were probably victimized last season by the fact that the Big XII didn't have a conference title game, but the fact of the matter is that they should be ashamed of themselves for losing the Cotton Bowl in a de facto home game against Michigan State after holding a 20-point fourth quarter lead.
It's tough to see how Art Briles and the gang are ever getting closer to a National Championship than they were last year.... 

Mark Dantonio was on the verge of being fired just a few seasons ago. Now, he has had four 11+ win seasons in his last five years, and has led the Michigan State Spartans to four consecutive bowl wins, including two straight in the BCS bowls. Is this the year he and his Spartans end up legitimately contending for a National Championship?... 

It has been a while since the boys from the Bayou have legitimately been National Championship contenders.
This year though, the LSU Tigers could be back with vengeance, as they have a whopping 17 starters returning from a team which went 8-5 a campaign ago.... 

Yes, the Auburn Tigers went 8-5 last season, and that generally doesn't bode well for anyone the next season. However, that schedule from last season won't be duplicated this year, and Gus Malzahn could have his crew right back in the thick of things in 2015.... 

Life after Chip Kelly wasn't supposed to be that easy for the Oregon Ducks, but in their two seasons without the man who helped architect their current system, they have been incredibly successful. But can they be successful without the man who was arguably the best quarterback in school history, Marcus Mariota?... 

Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes shocked the world last season by sneaking into the first College Football Playoff and winning the National Championship when they got there. They've got over half of their starters back, including three potential Heisman Trophy contenders at quarterback, and they have a paper thin schedule. Getting back to the playoff seems like a solid bet.... 

No team had a bigger gripe about not getting into the first College Football Playoff than the TCU Horned Frogs. The argument could be made that the Frogs arrived a year earlier than they were scheduled to in 2014 though, and that could be bad news for the rest of America in 2015.... 

The 2014 season was likely viewed as a great disappointment for the Alabama Crimson Tide even though they were semifinalists in the first ever College Football Playoff. Anything less than a National Championship is a big disappointment, and this year isn't going to be an exception with what has become a Nick Saban rule....
