Ramirez will certainly be favored when the boxing betting odds are released for this fight. If you aren’t familiar with betting on boxing and how it works, if Ramirez is a -350 favorite, you would need to bet $350 on him to win $100. Those odds would likely lead to Postol being a +275 underdog, and a $100 bet on the Ukrainian would return $275 at that price.
As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Jose Ramirez vs Viktor Postol Preview

Ramirez is returning to where it all started for this fight. He began his professional career in Las Vegas in December 2012, and he won six of his first eight bouts by first-round knockout. No one lasted more than four rounds with Ramirez until Alfred Romero in August 2014, and he was 15-0 without another bout going the distance up until his first title fight against Johnny Garcia in December 2015.

His first title fight was a success, as he won a unanimous decision over Garcia to claim the WBC Continental Americas junior welterweight belt. Ramirez successfully defended the belt four times before taking on Amir Imam for the WBC junior welterweight title. He won that fight by unanimous decision to earn his first major title.

Following that victory, he defended the belt successfully against Antonio Orozco and Jose Zepeda. Zepeda gave him a test though, as he only won that bout by majority decision. That led to a unification fight with Maurice Hooker with the WBO and WBC welterweight belts on the line, and Ramirez earned a sixth-round TKO to grab both titles.

Postol went 15-0 before earning his first title shot. He took on Karen Tevosyan for the WBC International Silver junior welterweight title in December 2011, and he won that bout by unanimous decision. He went on to defend the belt twice and then won the WBC International junior welterweight strap in March 2013.

His winning streak continued when he came to America. Postol was 27-0 coming into his WBC junior welterweight title fight with Lucas Matthysse, and he claimed the belt with a 10th round knockout. That earned him a unification fight with Terence Crawford, but Postol suffered the first loss of his career, losing by unanimous decision.

He lost a subsequent title fight to Josh Taylor in June 2018, but Postol responded with wins over Siar Ozgul and Mohamed Mimoune ahead of this bout.

Total Rounds Betting

The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds. Total betting rounds odds will be available soon so be sure to check back. Total betting rounds odds is a wager on how long the fight will last. Let’s say if the total rounds betting line is Over 11.5 Rounds -200, that means that if you think the fight is going to go all 12 rounds, for you to win your bet you would need to bet $200 to win $100. Conversely if you wager Under 11.5 Rounds +150, you would need to risk $100 to win $150. As long as the fight did not go past the 11th round, you would win the under.
