Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn Betting Odds
Chris Eubank Jr. -205
Conor Benn +161
Although he has two losses to his name, Chris Eubank Jr. is a slight favorite by the boxing betting odds ahead of his showdown with Conor Benn. Eubank Jr. will have a natural size advantage due to the weight he usually boxes at, but a rehydration clause will keep him from having too much of an edge. If you are unfamiliar with betting on boxing, a $205 bet on Eubank Jr. would return a $100 profit at this price. Meanwhile, a $100 wager on Benn would net $161 if he picked up the upset victory.
As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.
Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn Preview
The favorite in this fight is Chris Eubank Jr. The younger Eubank has not been as successful as his father, as Chris Eubank Sr. held the WBO middleweight and super middleweight titles from 1990 to 1995. However, Eubank Jr. was the interim WBA middleweight title holder twice, and he claimed the IBO super middleweight belt twice too.
Eubank Jr. started his career with 18 straight wins before he earned his first title shot. He faced Billy Joe Saunders for the British, Commonwealth, and European middleweight titles in November 2014, and he lost a narrow split decision. His performance was good enough that he earned a shot at the interim WBA middleweight title in his next fight though, and he defeated Dmitry Chudinov to claim the title. Eubank defended that belt and won the British middleweight belt before making the move to supper middleweight, and he defeated Renold Quinlan by TKO to claim the IBO super middleweight title.
We saw Eubank Jr. defend that title against Arthur Abraham and Avni Yildirim before losing to George Groves by unanimous decision in February 2018. He reclaimed the belt a year later with a unanimous decision victory over James DeGale, but then he moved back down to middleweight and claimed the interim WBA middleweight belt once more.
Eubank Jr. didn’t fight for 17 months due to COVID, but he has entered the ring three times since May 2021 and has won all three fights.
This is the biggest fight yet for Conor Benn. He has held the WBA Continental welterweight title for the last four years after initially claiming the belt with a unanimous decision victory over Cedrick Peynaud. Benn has successfully defended his championship seven times, but this will be the first time that he has fought at a weight class higher than welterweight.
It will be tough for Benn to get a knockout as he is at a significant size disadvantage. Eubank Jr. has a three-inch height advantage and a five-inch reach advantage over his opponent, and he will be carrying more weight too.
