Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol Betting Odds

Canelo Alvarez -485

Dmitry Bivol +353

Although he is a favorite in this fight, Canelo Alvarez is not as much of a favorite as you would expect by the boxing betting odds. Alvarez is -485, so that means you would need to bet $485 on him in order to win $100. Meanwhile, a $100 bet on Bivol would return a $353 profit if the defending champion were to pull off the upset.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol Preview

The biggest name in boxing today is Canelo Alvarez. He is one of the busiest fighters in the sport with 60 bouts under his belt, and he has won titles in four different weight classes. Alvarez fought a whopping 36 fights in his first six years as a professional boxer before he got his title shot a little more than a decade ago.

Alvarez beat Matthew Hatton for the WBC light middleweight belt and successfully defended that title six times before he faced the toughest opponents of his career. He fought the legendary Floyd Mayweather Jr. in one of the biggest fights of the 2010s, and he lost a majority decision to Money Mayweather.

A narrow split decision win over Erislandy Lara two fights later looked like it could spell the beginning of the end for Alvarez, but he has instead been the most dominant boxer of the last seven years. We saw Canelo win a unanimous decision over Miguel Cotto for the WBC middleweight belt, and after a fortunate split decision draw against Gennady Golovkin, he won a very controversial majority decision in the rematch.

Alvarez has since claimed multiple super middleweight titles by beating Rocky Fielding, Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders, and Caleb Plant, but this is just his second fight at light heavyweight. Canelo defeated Sergey Kovalev by knockout in the 11th round for the WBO light heavyweight belt in November 2019.

Dmitry Bivol is not as well-known as his counterpart, but he is very familiar with fighting at this weight. Bivol claimed the interim WBA light heavyweight belt in May 2016, and the interim tag was eventually taken off his title a little over a year later.

Bivol has gone on to defend his title eight times. He knocked out Trent Broadhurst in the first round in his first title defense, and he finished Sullivan Barrera in the final round in his next bout. However, his last six fights have all been unanimous decision victories. Still, Bivol has been a huge favorite per the boxing betting odds in his last few fights as he has won nearly all of the rounds.
