Angelo Leo vs Stephen Fulton Boxing Betting

The WBO junior featherweight title will be up for grabs in Connecticut on Sunday when Angelo Leo steps into the ring with Stephen Fulton. Leo (20-0 with nine knockouts) is currently the title holder after securing a unanimous decision win over Tramaine Williams in this same arena back in August. However, he is an underdog to Fulton (18-0 with eight knockouts), as the challenger is seen as a talented up and comer. These two top junior featherweights will headline a Showtime card that kicks off at 9 p.m. ET. Ra’eese Aleem and Vic Pasillas will square off in the co-main event just before this title fight.

Angelo Leo vs Stephen Fulton Betting Odds

Angelo Leo +130

Stephen Fulton -157

If you are unfamiliar with boxing betting odds, Fulton is the favorite on Saturday. A wager of $157 would return $100 if he were to earn the victory, while a $100 bet on the champion would be worth a $130 profit if Leo were to keep the belt.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Angelo Leo vs Stephen Fulton Preview

This fight was originally supposed to take place on August 1 of last year. Leo and Fulton were set to face off for the then-vacant WBO junior featherweight title, but Fulton tested positive for COVID-19 three days before the match. That led to Williams filling in for Fulton, and he fought gamely in his loss to Leo.

Leo wasn’t too impressive initially. Two of his first three wins came by majority decision, potentially derailing a burgeoning career. He secured his first knockout in his fourth fight, sending Michael James Herrera to the canvas in the fourth round.

His first seven fights all took place in the southwestern United States before he crossed the border to box in Mexico. Leo knocked out all three of his opponents there in a span of five months, but he didn’t enter the ring again until 15 months later.

We saw Leo head to Las Vegas for his next string of fights. He only knocked out two of his next eight opponents, but he was able to secure unanimous decision victories in the other bouts. That led to a showdown with Cesar Juarez for the WBO-NABO junior featherweight title in Atlanta in December 2019 prior to his major title fight with Williams.

Fulton cut his teeth in the legendary Philadelphia scene. He had no problem with his first several opponents, but he was tested by Joshua Greer in December 2015. Fulton had to settle for a majority decision win in that bout, so he took it out on his next two opponents with knockout victories.

He knocked off Adam Lopez by majority decision in south Florida back in December 2017 to further establish himself as a contender. That was followed by a knockout of 14-1 Jesus Antonio Ahumada and then two more wins led to a title fight against Paulus Ambunda for the IBO super bantamweight strap. Fulton defeated Ambunda by unanimous decision to claim his first belt back in May 2019.

The challenger has been very impressive in his last two fights. Fulton scored a knockout over 16-0 Isaac Avelar in August 2019, and that was followed up with another title bout five months later. Fulton took on 16-0-1 Arnold Khegai for the WBO intercontinental super bantamweight belt, and he won a unanimous decision. This is his first fight in almost a full year, but he has had ample time to recover from COVID after it sidelined him in the summer.
