Warriors at Lakers NBA Betting

Most of the league will be in action on Wednesday night. This will be the last game for most teams prior to the All-Star Break, and there are some teams that are really looking forward to the time off. Injuries have taken their toll on teams, and other teams just want some time to mentally recuperate after frustrating seasons. As the trade deadline was last week, the break will give teams extra time to incorporate their new players into their lineups too, and that could give teams that made lots of moves an edge after the All-Star Break.

Miami Heat at Brooklyn Nets

Oddsmakers and bettors are going to overreact to the Brooklyn Nets’ betting lines after they blew up their roster last week. Brooklyn was one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference by the NBA futures odds, but the Nets now have 100-1 odds to win the conference after trading away Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

This is still a pretty talented team despite the loss of two superstars though. Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson are both very good, and they have chemistry together from their time in Phoenix. The same is true of Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian-Finney Smith due to their time in Dallas together. Seth Curry can knock down a lot of threes if he’s healthy too.

Brooklyn beat Miami in south Florida earlier this year. The Nets did a solid job on defense as most of Miami’s shooters struggled from the floor, and the only reason the Heat kept it close was due to an advantage of 10 offensive rebounds.

Miami is extremely banged up and ready for the All-Star Break. Kyle Lowry is going to be out for this game, and Victor Oladipo is likely to be out with an ankle injury too. Additionally, Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, and Udonis Haslem are all considered day-to-day. Jimmy Butler is one of the few players that is expected to suit up for Miami, but this will be too much pressure for Butler.

New Orleans Pelicans at Los Angeles Lakers

At the end of the 2022 calendar year, the New Orleans Pelicans were one of the best teams in the NBA. New Orleans had a 23-12 record, and it looked like the Pelicans would be a contender in the Western Conference. However, they are now just one game over .500 at this point as injuries have really hurt them. The Pelicans’ two best players are Zion Wiliamson and Brandon Ingram and they have not spent any time together on the court.

Ingram has only played in 22 games, and Williamson has only played in 29 games. To make matters worse, it was announced yesterday that Williamson suffered a setback in his rehab, and he isn’t expected to take the court again until March at the earliest. It continues to be maddening for fans of the franchise as the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft has played just 114 games in his NBA career.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers made a lot of small moves that made this team better. Although the Lakers are usually overrated, they are in the rare spot of being underrated right now. D’Angelo Russell previously spent time in LA, and the Lakers really helped the depth on their bench with the addition of Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt. We could see big man Mo Bamba finally find a home too.

The decision to trade away Russell Westbrook was largely addition by subtraction. Westbrook has not been good during his time with the Lakers, and he did not pair well with LeBron James or Anthony Davis. As long as LBJ plays on Wednesday night, that should help the Lakers get the win.
