NBA Friday Opening Line Report

If you want to take a little bit of a break from March Madness and flip over to watch the professionals, we won’t blame you. As great as the uncertainty of the NCAA Tournament can be, there is something calming about seeing James Harden go off for 30 a night or seeing the New York Knicks continue to lose. There are seven games to flip between tonight, and there are some real playoff implications on the line.

NBA Opening Lines at BookMaker.eu

Memphis Grizzlies at Orlando Magic (ORL -6.5, O/U 208.5)

This is a must-win game for the Magic. Miami is starting to pull away from them in the Southeast, and Orlando needs a win to get back to within a game of the Heat, and they have a chance to close the lead to a half-game with Miami on the road against Milwaukee tonight.

The total is the lowest of the day as Memphis’ brand of basketball calls for lower scoring games. The Grizzlies play at a low tempo, and they play pretty great defense to keep games close.

Denver Nuggets at New York Knicks (DEN -11, O/U 216)

With Zion Williamson in their sights (provided the ping pong balls bounce their way), the Knicks aren’t going to stop losing now. Even though New York is at home, they are a double-digit underdog to a Denver team that doesn’t let up against bad opponents.

Sharps are thinking this one is going to be somewhat high-scoring. The over/under in this game came out at 214.5 and it has already moved up by 1.5 points. That number could continue to rise throughout Friday.

Los Angeles Clippers at Cleveland Cavaliers (LAC -7, O/U Check Back Later)

Both of these teams have been better than expected in recent weeks. The Cavaliers have won four straight at home, and they have pulled off some stunning upsets there. They have beaten Orlando, Toronto, Detroit, and Milwaukee despite being underdogs against all three teams.

The Clippers want to keep this momentum going headed into the playoffs. They have won eight of their last 10, and they haven’t lost to a non-playoff team since February 11.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Toronto Raptors (TOR -2.5, O/U 226)

This will be one of the games of the day. Oklahoma City is struggling at the worst time. A four-game losing streak has them in a four-way tie for fifth, and if those woes continue they could find themselves as the No. 8 seed. They are just 19-18 on the road this season.

These teams met in Oklahoma City two nights ago, and Toronto pulled out a gutty win in overtime after blowing a 14-point fourth quarter lead. Pascal Siakam was too much to handle with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists, and the big man could have another big game. Kyle Lowry will be out as he continues to rest an ankle injury.

San Antonio Spurs at Houston Rockets (HOU -6, O/U 221)

James Harden is making a serious MVP run down the stretch. He has exploded for more than 50 points in consecutive nights, and he does it all for Houston.

The Spurs are in line to make the playoffs for the 22nd straight season, but they haven’t been good on the road. They are 13-22 away from home this year, yet they have won nine of their last 10 games. The total in this line has moved up a point since open.

Miami Heat at Milwaukee Bucks (MIL -9.5, O/U Check Back Later)

Let’s see if the Bucks continue to struggle without Malcolm Brogdon. Milwaukee is suddenly looking beatable since their best defender went down with an injury, and the Bucks are 5-5 in their last 10 games. They do have the league’s favorite to win MVP in Giannis Antetokuonmpo, but Miami has the third-best road record in the East.

Brooklyn Nets at Los Angeles Lakers (LAL -1, O/U 229.5)

A loss here officially eliminates the Lakers from the postseason. Los Angeles is 1-9 in its last 10 games, so it’s a bit surprising to see the Lakers as an underdog when they have packed it in. Brooklyn is still riding high after a thrilling comeback from 25 points down in the fourth quarter, and the Nets might get another boost as LeBron James is questionable with a groin injury.
