Oklahoma State Cowboys at Kansas Jayhawks CBB Betting

One of the reasons the Kansas Jayhawks have dominated Big 12 play since Bill Self took the program over in 2003 has been its ability to dominate Oklahoma State. Dating back to 2006, KU has rattled off 21 wins and was only handed nine defeats while covering the closing college basketball odds at online sportsbooks 15 times. Only twice during that 30 game sample was Kansas not favored to win the game by linemakers. Having come out victorious in seven of the last eight most recent meetings, the Jayhawks will be laying another significant number when they close their season rivalry with the Cowpokes whom they already defeated 74-63 back on January 4 in Stillwater as 6.5-point road chalk. With OK-State just 4-7 SU and 4-6-1 ATS in Big 12 play, linemakers will have Kansas laying in the neighborhood of 14 points for the rematch which should come as no surprise considering they’ve gone off the board double-digit favorites five of the last six times they hosted the rivalry. Making this trek to Lawrence all the more daunting is Kansas going an unblemished 34-0 SU at home on Big Monday under Self’s watch.

Take this Big 12 battle in live on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET from the Allen Fieldhouse on Monday, February 14, 2022. BookMaker.eu will have NCAA basketball odds available for this and every game lined up for Big Monday’s college basketball schedule.

Odds Analysis

Think the Cowpokes are missing Cade Cunningham right about now? It’s been a rough go for the program since he bolted for the NBA evidenced by the 11-12 SU and 8-14-1 ATS records going into Saturday’s home tilt against the West Virginia Mountaineers. The team’s logged a pair of wins through nine tries on the road with each coming way back in late November at Oral Roberts and then shockingly over Baylor in the middle of January. Since that upset of the Bears, Oklahoma State has dropped four straight on the road versus Texas (56-51), Florida (81-72), K-State (71-68) and TCU (77-73). The lone cover was tallied against the Longhorns as 10-point dogs. As for Kansas, it’s won 11-of-12 in front of the hometown faithful while logging a poor 5-6 ATS record. It’s been a .500 investment to date when asked to lay 10 or more points as hosts with the squad just 5-5-1 ATS.

Oklahoma State Cowboys

Last we saw the Cowpokes in live action they dropped a tough 77-73 decision at TCU as 2-point dogs to split the season rivalry with the Horned Frogs. Isaac Likekele led the team in scoring with 19 points and also proved to be the leading rebounder (6). The offense was blistering hot in converting 49 percent of shots from the field, but TCU took advantage of some home cooking and got the refs to whistle OSU for 19 fouls to their 13. The Horny Toads took advantage in draining 18-of-23 shots while the Cowboys only managed to split their 10 overall attempts. TCU’s 13 point advantage at the charity stripe allowed for them to get over the hump even though Oklahoma State turned them over 15 times. OK-State is one of the best in the country at forcing turnovers (No. 12), but still lost by 11 and failed to cover in the first meeting with the Jayhawks even though it forced a whopping 21 miscues!

Kansas Jayhawks

KU heads into Saturday’s home tilt with the Oklahoma Sooners off a tough to stomach defeat to the Texas Longhorns whom it held a four point lead against with just over a minute remaining but ended up falling by a 79-76 final count. Kansas shot a sizzling 58 percent from the floor with Jalen Wilson leading all scorers with a team-high 18 points. He logged the double-double by also ripping down a team-high 11 rebounds. His big game proved to be crucial with Texas head coach Chris Beard making it a point to take Agbaji out of the game by draping Courtney Ramey on him all game long. The Jayhawks potential Player of the Year Award winner was held to just 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting after averaging over 20 points per game for the year! If Wilson has truly turned a corner – which it looks like he has in averaging 15.8 points and 7.3 rebounds over the last 10 games – Kansas is going to be tough for any of its other B12 brethren to get the best of moving forward; especially in the Phog!

Oklahoma State at Kansas Betting Prediction

The first go-round between these squads played to a 29-29 first half tie. The second 30 minutes was more or less all Kansas with it taking a 43-40 lead on an Agbaji 3-pointer with just over 14 minutes remaining. It pushed the lead to 10 at the 11:33 mark and led by double-digits the rest of the way. Oklahoma State failed to put a single point on the board over the game’s final three-plus minutes allowing those that bet under 144 to cash in a ticket. KU would shoot 43 percent from the field and knock down 10 3-pointers while converting 9-of-12 shots from the stripe. OKST shot a wretched 36 percent overall and converted just 4-of-17 long range shots. Kansas also destroyed the Cowboys on the glass outboarding them 49-31. Bottom line, Kansas has the ability to turn this into an annihilation right from the word go. It’s advantages on the glass, free throw line and from beyond the arc should simply be too much for the Cowboys to handle for a full 40 minutes. With only a trip to Morgantown upcoming on Saturday, Oklahoma State will have KU’s full undivided attention. That’s not a good thing for anyone looking to take the points! Look for Self to move to 35-0 on Big Monday at home, and for the Jayhawks to put a cherry on top of the win by covering the inflated number.
