College Basketball Parlay Picks for Wednesday, December 20, 2023

College Basketball Wednesday, December 20 Parlay Picks

At the onset of the season, no team brought more interest or intrigue than the St. John’s Red Storm. Cause by the hiring of legendary but controversial head coach Rick Pitino. The Red Storm host another coach with a checkered past, Sean Miller, and his Xavier Musketeers at Carnesecca Arena on Wednesday night. FS1 will broadcast the matchup at 7 p.m. ET, heading a strong lineup of parlay plays. Included on the list is another attractive power matchup between the Baylor Bears and Duke Blue Devils at Madison Square Garden, New York, on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. Additionally, the Oklahoma Sooners and North Carolina Tar Heels offer a name brand showdown at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN. That game is at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC.

College Basketball offers a quality Wednesday night lineup offering parlay value. Let’s take a look at the three-team college basketball parlay for Wednesday, December 20.

The Xavier Musketeers are 6-5 straight up, 7-3 against the spread, and 5-5 over/under the total. Xavier saw the payout window in four of its previous five games. Guard Quincy Olivari leads Xavier with 17.6 points per game. Guard Desmond Claude adds 15.5 points per outing.

The St. John’s Red Storm is 7-3 straight up, 4-5 against the spread, and 5-4 over the total. The Red Storm got the cash in four of its previous five games. Pitino has five players averaging double figures for St. John’s. Joel Soriano leads the Johnnies with 18 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest.

St. John’s will be overpriced with the home court and because of the Pitino name brand that casuals flock towards.

The Baylor Bears are 9-1 straight up, 6-2-1 against the spread, and 6-3 over the total. However, Baylor is coming off an 88-64 blowout loss at unranked Michigan State on Saturday. The Bears entered the game ranked 6th in the country. Also, coach Scott Drew’s Bears lost to the board for the first time in seven games. Baylor boasts the nation’s 8th-ranked scoring offense and ranks 2nd for 3-point field goal percentage. Baylor has plenty of scoring depth, with six players averaging double figures. Ja’Kobe Walker leads the Bears with 14.3 points per outing.

The Duke Blue Devils are off to a start of 7-3 straight up, 5-5 against the spread, and 5-5 over/under the total. Duke shows good balance with national metrics of 53rd for scoring offense and 66th for points allowed. Kyle Filipowski leads the Blue Devils with 18.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest. The sophomore center is an All-American candidate.

Baylor will offer more value in this matchup as the quality away team. The Bears have the additional motivation of wanting to atone for their terrible performance at Michigan State.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a promising start at 10-0 straight up, 8-2 against the spread, and 6-4 over the total. OU has quality wins over Arkansas and Iowa. The Sooners rank an impressive 28th for scoring offense and 14th for points allowed. Otega Oweh leads OU with 14.9 points per game. At the same time, Jovian McCollum adds 14.3 points per outing. Coach Porter Moser is in his third season and feeling some heat to make the NCAA Tournament after failing to do so in his first two years at OU.

Meanwhile, the North Carolina Tar Heels are 7-3 straight up, 4-6 against the spread, and 7-3 over the total. Carolina failed to cover three of its previous four games. To its credit, UNC scored wins over Tennessee and Arkansas this season. However, they also lost games to Kentucky, UConn and Villanova. North Carolina ranks 25th in the nation for scoring offense, but an abysmal 280th for points allowed. RJ Davis leads UNC with 21.6 points per game.

North Carolina remains an overpriced name brand that consistently shows poor value and little defense to protect the back door.
