College Basketball Thursday, March 7, 2024 Parlay Picks

We have a mix of conference tournament and regular season games on the college basketball slate for Thursday, March 7 in which to build a winning parlay card. What has been referred to as Championship Week now spans nearly two weeks with conference tournament matchups from the Atlantic Sun, Ohio Valley, Big South and Missouri Valley Conferences on the docket. Meanwhile squads from the Pac-12, Big West and Conference USA complete their regular season schedules with a bevy of games on Thursday.

Not getting a lot of attention nationally but a contest that will likely decide the CUSA regular season champion, Louisiana Tech hosts Sam Houston. The squads enter Thursday’s game each at 11-3 in league play and riding a five-game winning streak. The game is schedule for 9 p.m. ET and can be seen on CBS Sports Network. At No. 5 in the national polls the Arizona Wildcats are the highest ranked team on the slate. They’ll look to wrap up the final Pac-12 regular season title with a contest against the UCLA Bruins, who have lost four in a row. Now let’s take a look at some College Basketball parlay picks for Thursday, Mar. 7.

Two out of three ain’t bad, according to the 1970s power ballad from Meat Loaf. But it ain’t good enough when playing a college basketball parlay. I started last week’s picks like a bat out of hell with easy cover wins from Rutgers over Michigan and Saint Mary’s over Pepperdine. However the final leg failed to come through when CS Northridge took a dump against Big West leader UC Irvine as a 7-point dog. The Matadors shot 35 percent, made just 3 of 17 three-pointers and committed 16 turnovers in the 89-64 defeat.

I gave away a few of my parlay picks in the opener when discussing a pair of games. And I’ll touch on those and my picks more in depth. All things considered Arizona looks like a strong pick against the struggling Bruins. The Wildcats lead the Pac-12 and have won nine of their last 12 games with seven payouts in that span. And they’ll certainly be motivated with the conference title within their grasp. It’s been a frustrating season for the Bruins, who were playing their best basketball up until a few weeks ago.

They had won six straight and eight of nine while going 8-1 ATS in that span, but things took a drastic turn in a 70-69 loss to Utah on a last second putback. They dropped their next three games and are 0-4 ATS in their last four outings. Still, they’ve played well at times with costly mistakes proving fatal. The Bruins had a 17-point second half lead in Tucson in January but coughed it up getting outscored 25-12 at the free throw line. UCLA stayed within the 18.5-point line in the 77-71 loss and I expect another close one between these rivals in what is their last.

With the regular season title on the line the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs look to exact some revenge from an earlier loss to Sam Houston and take control of the standings. Since that loss to SHU in early January La Tech is 11-2 with payouts in nine of those games. And they’ve been good at home going 13-1 backed by one of the better defenses in DI. The Bulldogs allow opponents to shoot just 39.1 percent from the field while boasting a top 15 scoring defense. I’ll back the home team against the line.

The lone Big Ten matchup on the docket takes place in Madison with the Badgers hosting Rutgers. Wisconsin’s bid for an at-large bid to the Dance took a serious blow with losses in seven of their past nine games, including a 78-56 drubbing at Rutgers a month ago. The Scarlet Knights haven’t been much better losing four of their last five games going 1-4 ATS. Revenge is a great motivator and playing at home will be enough for Bucky to turn the tide with a cover win.
