College Basketball Parlay Picks for Saturday, March 9, 2024

College Basketball Saturday, March 9, 2024 Parlay Picks

The final weekend of the college basketball regular season closes the book on a number of conference races while other clubs have already started competing for the automatic bid to the Big Dance through their conference championship tournament. What that does is set up a wild slate of games on Saturday, March 9 in which to build a winning College Basketball parlay card. The biggest matchup of the day takes place in the Big 12 with No. 1 Houston hosting No. 14 Kansas. I guess you could say their first season in the conference has been a success with the Cougars on the verge of winning the regular season title. The game tips at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Not to be outdone the ACC gives us one of the best rivalry games in the history of college athletics when Duke entertains North Carolina at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. It seems as though the squads are always nationally ranked and the stakes are high, and Saturday is no different. Both are ranked among the top 10 with the Tar Heels holding a one-game bulge in the ACC standings. UNC won the earlier matchup 93-84 behind double-doubles from Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram to cover the 5-point line. That’s just a sampling of some huge games on the docket for Saturday, March 9.

Bet $100 to win $1200

I posted another three wins on my college basketball parlay card last week, unfortunately I had four total wagers just missing out on a major payout when Kentucky failed to cover the 13-point spread in a 111-102 victory over Arkansas. I did, however, hit the OVER in that game and also got cover wins from Butler over a sad DePaul squad and with Gonzaga in its revenge win over Saint Mary’s. Now it’s time to put all wins on the same ticket.

The only thing preventing Georgetown from being the Big East laughingstock is DePaul. The Hoyas’ only two conference wins were over DePaul by a total of four points and those are their only wins since before Christmas. They’ve also had a tough time getting the cash with only four payouts in their past 12 games. One of Georgetown’s closest losses was to St. John’s, 90-85, a few weeks ago when they stayed within the 10-point line. That win for the Johnnies started a run of four straight with the last thee by an average of more than 21 points with four payouts. This is more a pick against Georgetown, but SJU is playing good ball ahead of the Big East Tournament.

There’s a lot more than just bragging rights on the line in the Tobacco Road tilt between UNC and Duke. The Heels have a slim lead in the ACC standings and although it doesn’t affect their inclusion in the NCAA Tournament, winning the regular season title is still a big deal. And I have a hard time going against the Blue Devils when they play big games at Cameron Indoor. Plus, the Dookies would like nothing better than to avenge an earlier loss and should have more than zero first half free throw attempts like they did in the first meeting.

Despite their glossy record and No. 1 ranking, Houston has to best Kansas in order to prove it truly belongs in the Big 12. The Cougars have only three losses with KU handing them a 13-point setback at the Phog a month ago. Houston’s other defeats were by a total of five points in consecutive games in early January. Since then they’ve gone 12-1 and boast the best defense in college basketball allowing an average of just 57.2 points. The Cougars are also perfect at home in 16 tries and will continue that run on Saturday.
