College Basketball Betting – Monday Best Bets

College Basketball Betting

One game on the Monday college basketball schedule stands out from all the others. That would be the Big 12 showdown between Kansas State and Kansas with first place on the line. We’re accustomed to seeing the Jayhawks at the top of the conference standings around this time of year since they’ve won or shared 14 straight Big 12 regular season titles. However, that streak is in jeopardy and a loss to their in-state rival would be devastating for their chances of making it 15 in a row.

Iowa State isn’t going to win the regular season title but the Cyclones can become the fourth Big 12 team to reach 20 wins this season by taking down Oklahoma. Florida State blew its chance to make a run up the conference ladder with a blowout loss at UNC on Saturday. The Noles have a short turnaround and host Notre Dame in the only ACC tilt on the docket. Lipscomb looks to maintain its share of first in the Atlantic Sun by hosting NJIT and the betting day concludes with a matchup of the top two teams in the Big Sky when Northern Colorado visits Montana.

BookMaker.eu will have college basketball odds and live betting options for every game on the Monday schedule.

Monday Best Bets

Kansas State at Kansas ( -3.5, 132.5 )

It’s been a tough season for Bill Self and his Jayhawks with the loss of Udoka Azubuike to injury and Lagerald Vick taking a leave of absence from the program. Still, Kansas is hanging around near the top of the Big 12 standings with a chance to extend its streak of win or shared regular season conference titles to 15. And as long as they don’t have to travel, the Jayhawks should be just fine.

Undefeated at the Phog this season with 18 straight wins overall, the Jayhawks are a different team on their floor. They are coming off the most lopsided league loss in Self’s tenure and they were beaten by the Wildcats in Manhattan earlier this season. But they’ve owned K-State at home winning 12 in a row and I like the Jayhawks to respond with another big home win to further tighten things in the Big 12.

Notre Dame at Florida State ( -12.5, 140 )

The Noles were the hottest team in the ACC until they ran into a hotter group in Chapel Hill over the weekend. Florida State had its eight-game winning streak silenced by UNC in a 77-59 loss and both teams have a little time to sulk over their defeats. FSU has a chance to grab one of the top four spots in the standings which brings a double bye when the conference tournament starts. That should be motivation enough against the Irish, who are struggling to win games.

Not only are wins hard to come by for Notre Dame, so are points. And facing one of the better defenses in the ACC isn’t going to get them out of the doldrums. The opening spread is up there and instead of backing a team on the line, I’m going to lean to the under, which is 4-1 in Notre Dame’s last five ACC road games.

Northern Colorado at Montana ( -6.5 )

The Grizzlies are the class of the Big Sky having won 10 straight to seize control. They also ambushed Northern Colorado 88-64 when the teams met last month in Greeley. These are the top two teams in the conference, but there is a big difference between them. And with the Griz at home, the opening line of -6.5 looks like a gift.

Montana played on Saturday, beating Montana State in an always intense matchup. Meanwhile, the Bears haven’t played in nine days, so they should be well-rested. UNCO will need conference scoring leader Jordan Davis to supply some fireworks, but even that likely won’t be enough, making the Griz minus the points the best bet.
