Clemson Tigers at Duke Blue Devils NCAA Basketball Odds

Clemson at Duke College Basketball Odds

The Duke Blue Devils will be out to snare a second straight win on Saturday afternoon when the Clemson Tigers come a calling looking to build off a nice win over Louisville earlier in the week. The Dookies got off the schneid as well last time out against Georgia Tech. Both teams currently find themselves in a jumbled mess sitting in the middle of the ACC standings. With this being the lone regular season meeting between the two squads, the pressure will be on for each to succeed and improve upon its placement within the conference tournament. Duke has owned the recent rivalry in taking seven of the last 10 meetings, but the Tigers put an end to a four-game losing streak last season after upsetting the Dookies 79-72 as double-digit home dogs.

Take this ACC matchup in live on ESPN at 11 a.m. ET from Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday, January 30, 2021. We'll have NCAA basketball odds at BookMaker.eu available for this and every game on Saturday’s college basketball schedule.

Odds Analysis

Clemson got out to a tremendous start for college basketball bettors winning and covering each of its first five games. Since then, the Tigers have been a detriment to bankrolls with the team managing just a pair of covers in its last nine played games. Though it sports a defensive efficiency ranked No. 16 overall, it’s surprisingly cashed over tickets on eight of 13 occasions. The Tigers have yet to cover a game away from Littlejohn (0-4 ATS) to date. As for Duke, it’s gotten out to one of the worst starts I can remember under Coach K’s watch. Tuesday’s gift cover against Georgia Tech moved it to an embarrassing 2-9 versus the number for the season. It’s also played to a 5-5-1 tally against the total, but has cashed four straight over tickets when at home.

Clemson Tigers

Brad Brownell’s kids took to its home floor on Wednesday night desperately in need of a win. Since putting the program on hold because of COVID-19 protocols, the Tigers have gotten their teeth kicked in by Virginia, Georgia Tech and Florida State. None of the three games were close with Clemson succumbing to defeat by an average of 24.0 points per game! Through one half of play against Louisville, Aamir Simms and company were in jeopardy of losing another one trailing 22-21 and having a terrible time of scoring the basketball. With the game tied at 37 with just over eight minutes remaining, the Tigers went on a run that got them out to an eight point lead that they’d never relinquish. The 54-50 win saw them cover the closing 1.5-point spread.

Duke Blue Devils

Staring a prolonged losing streak square in the face heading into Tuesday night’s home tilt against Georgia Tech, the Dookies responded with excellent closes to the first and second halves to escape with the 75-68 win against the Yellow Jackets. Had Coach K not gotten another huge showing from freshman Jalen Johnson, the Ramblin’ Wreck would’ve gotten the best of the Blue Devils. In avoiding the four-game losing streak for the first time since 2007, Duke also put an end to an ugly five-game losing streak against the closing basketball odds. They’ll welcome the Tigers into Cameron Indoor where the team stands undefeated in ACC play at 3-0 (1-2 ATS) with wins tallied against Boston College, Wake Forest and GTECH.

Clemson vs. Duke Prediction

Look for the host Blue Devils to be laying around five points in this matchup with the total set in the mid to high 130s. Though Clemson just disposed of the same Louisville team that got the best of the Dookies the prior weekend, I still don’t have any faith in the Tigers going into Cameron Indoor and coming out with a win for the first time since the 1994-95 season. Seriously, they’ve dropped 18 straight within Cameron Indoor and absolutely nothing leads me to believe they put together a complete game at both ends of the court to snap that daunting losing streak. Duke’s offense has shown glimpses of turning it around of late in shooting 45 percent or better from the field in two straight and three of its last five games. My eyes bleed out when thinking about being forced to watch Clemson execute offensively! With that, lay the home chalk so long as it isn’t too far inflated from my expected number to beat.
