ACC Tournament NCAA Basketball Betting

The Duke Blue Devils are still the defending champions of the ACC Tournament due to the fact that last year’s installment was cancelled. When this year’s is all but done, that will no longer be the case. The Dookies were lined as co-favorites to win it last season along with the Florida State Seminoles, but they now find seven teams ahead of them with shorter odds to cut the nets down come Saturday night. Though FSU and Virginia clock in as the top dogs this time around, this tournament looks to be wide open if either of those two teams fails to bring their “A” game to the hardwood. That’s a tell-tale sign that the ACC continues to be down which presents college hoops bettors with an opportunity to get rewarded should they peg the team that comes out of nowhere to make a run. Let’s see if I can do just that by offering up some advice on three teams to contemplate investing in at online sportsbooks over the course of this tournament.

The ACC Tournament is set to tip-off on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. The games will be broadcast live on the ACC Network and ESPN.

Favorite to Bet: Florida State Seminoles +230

Though I got down on the Noles to win the ACC at +350 at the end of January, there’s still a good amount of value here to take advantage of; unless you don’t think getting better than 2-1 on the best team in the conference is worth an investment! It all comes down to Leonard Hamilton’s kids hitting the ground running. When it does, it simply just attacks its opposition in waves. If it sits back and allows the opponent to dictate, that’s when the Seminoles get into trouble; like in the losses incurred against Georgia Tech and most recently Notre Dame. I don’t count the loss at UNC as that was an anomaly. This team has got size for days and it can stroke the 3-ball with the best of them. My only concern is the team showing a knack for laying eggs when playing away from Tallahassee with it managing just three wins and a pair of pointspread covers through seven tries. So long as M.J. Walker, Raiquan Grey and Scottie Barnes play within their means, it should cruise to the finals with it logging wins against just about everybody on its side of the bracket.

Underdog to Bet: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets +1000

This is a tremendous rate of return on an experienced team that simply just knew how to get the job done over the course of the regular season. Josh Pastner has inarguably the best team at his disposal since taking over the Ramblin’ Wrecks program year’s back. GTECH gets the benefit of locking down one of the top-four seeds that propels it all the way into the quarterfinals. That means it would only have to win three games in three days to cut down the nets and reward their supporter’s with a fantastic 10-1 return on investment. This team plays an excellent brand of offensive basketball with Moses Wright (18.0 PPG), Jose Alvarado (15.5 PPG) and Michael Devoe (15.0 PPG) leading the charge. While it leaves a bit to be desired in the rebounding department as well as the defensive end of the court, it does a great job valuing possession of the basketball (No. 43) and plays great as a team in averaging over 16 assists per game (No. 19). No team covered more games in the ACC than that of the Yellow Jackets (14-9 ATS). They got alligator blood and won’t go down without a fight!

Longshot to Bet: Syracuse Orange +4000

With the ACC down as a whole, doesn’t it just feel like an opportune time for Jimmy Boeheim and the Orange to come out of nowhere and make another run? As it stands right now, the Cuse currently sits on the outside looking into the NCAA Tournament. Most bracketologists have them inserted into their “First Four Out” of the dance. With just a pair of losses over its last seven games (4-3 ATS) and closing the season out on a high with back-to-back wins against North Carolina and Clemson, I like where the team’s collective head is at entering the ACC Tourney. Allan Griffin has been playing like a man possessed of late, while Buddy Boeheim continues to lead the team in scoring (16.0 PPG) and Quincy Guerrier continues to clean the glass (9.0 RPG). Health wise, the team is in great shape and it invades Greensboro with an agenda. Seriously, if that’s not enough to entice you to throw beer money on the Orange making a run, March isn’t for you!
