Saskatchewan Roughriders PicksCanadian Football Odds: There's really nothing holding the Saskatchewan Roughriders back at this point. They have one of the most veteran-laden teams in the CFL; they just can't seem to actually get over the hump and challenge Calgary for the West Division title. After a year in which four quarterbacks were needed just to get through the season, the Riders are hoping that this season, Darian Durant can stay healthy through the full 18 games and give them a shot at capturing a fifth Grey Cup title.

Saskatchewan Roughriders West Division Odds: +925

Saskatchewan Roughriders Regular Season Win Total: 8.5

The window of opportunity is clearly closing in Riderville. Darian Durant isn't going to be able to stick around forever, and counting on Kevin Glenn as his backup shouldn't be considered comforting. That said, when Durant is right, John Chick is healthy along the defensive line and Weston Dressler is excelling as a top receiver in the short passing game, this team can be downright scary.

The biggest problem the men in green and white have is the fact that they are playing in an absolutely stacked West Division. In the East, they'd probably be the favorites to go to the Grey Cup. Here in the West, they won't even necessarily be a lock to get into the postseason.

From the Regina Rugby Club to the Regina Roughriders to the modern day Saskatchewan Roughriders, this organization has been one of the longest-standing in all of North American sports. Outside of stoppages that the entire nation took for World War I and World War II, the Riders have played non-stop since 1910. The only team in the CFL older is the Toronto Argonauts.

That said, you'd think there would be a lot more success out of a team that has played for well over 100 years and has one of the most rabid fan bases in the CFL. The Roughriders though, are most remembered for what they haven't accomplished instead of what they have. They're just 4-15 in the Grey Cup all-time, none of which was harder to swallow than a 28-27 loss in the 2009 Grey Cup to Montreal when what would have been the game-ending missed Alouettes field goal was called back due to too many men on the field. Damon Duval, of course, nailed the next attempt to pass the Grey Cup from Saskatchewan to Montreal.

The Riders did pick up a Grey Cup in 2013, but that's the only season they've won a playoff game in since that fateful day at the end of 2010.

Three of Saskatchewan's four Grey Cup titles have come since 1989. The Riders needed 56 years to win their first ever Grey Cup, and their 1966 title was their only one in their first 79 years of existence.
