It’s going to be a great weekend of horse racing that is highlighted by Churchill Downs and Santa Anita returning to action. Both tracks are top tier and feature the best horses, trainers, and jockeys in the country. Santa Anita will celebrate its comeback with two stakes races on Saturday. There will be plenty for gamblers to sort through and bet on with a loaded lineup of action with the ponies. This weekend a total of five tracks will feature full cards.
Santa Anita and Churchill Downs Return on Saturday

Churchill Downs – Louisville, Kentucky – Saturday and Sunday
The famed home track of the Kentucky Derby resumes action with a total of 11 races on both Saturday and Sunday.
First in the jockey standings at the previous meet was Corey J. Lanerie. He has been the lead jockey at Churchill Downs a total of 11 times. Lanerie won over $2 million in earnings at the previous meet. In 196 starts he posted 34 wins, 29 seconds, and 38 thirds.
Another top rider to consider is Ricardo Santana, Jr. At the last Churchill Downs meet he was third in the standings with over $1.6 million in earnings. Santana had 131 starts with 23 wins, 19 seconds, and 14 thirds.
Santa Anita Park – Arcadia, California – Saturday
Saturday is a big day at Santa Anita with a total of 10 races which will include two $150,000 stakes races. The sixth race is the Echo Eddie Stakes, while in the eighth is the Evening Jewel Stakes.
First place in the jockey standings belongs to Flavien Prat with over $2.4 million in earnings. Prat has 194 starts with 45 wins, 37 seconds, and 34 thirds. Prat will ride Big Sweep in the Echo Eddie Stakes followed by a mount with Been Studying Her in the Evening Jewel Stakes.
Second in the jockey standings is Abel Cedillo with over $2.4 million for earnings. Cedillo has 262 starts with 39 wins, 42 seconds, and 34 thirds. Cedillo is to be aboard Audace in the Echo Eddie Stakes and will then ride Bulletproof One in the Evening Jewel Stakes.
Third place on the jockey board is Joel Rosario with over $2.3 million in earnings. Rosario has 145 starts with 36 wins, 33 seconds, and 23 thirds. However, Rosario is not scheduled to ride in either stakes race on Saturday.
And the fourth-place jockey at Santa Anita is Umberto Rispoli with over $1.6 million in earnings. In 166 starts he has 36 wins, 26 seconds, and 24 thirds. Bettor Trip Nick will have Rispoli aboard in the Echo Eddie Stakes. Then in the Evening Jewel Stakes Rispoli will ride Bella Vita.
Gulfstream Park – Hallandale, Florida – Saturday
On Saturday Gulfstream Park will feature a total of 11 races on the card.
Luis Saez has been the top Gulfstream Park jockey in the standings with over $1 million in earnings. In 204 starts he has 432 wins, 34 seconds, and 28 thirds.
Remington Park – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Saturday
Saturday features 11 races on the Remington Park card.
On the whole few jockeys at any track have been as dominant at James A. Flores at Remington Park. Flores has $1.3 million in earnings. After that he has 220 starts with 56 wins, 31 seconds and 28 thirds.
