Horse Racing Odds – Gulfstream and Saratoga Lead Big Weekend at Tracks!

As Labor Day weekend and the Kentucky Derby approach next weekend the summer meets at top North American tracks are starting to wind down. With that in mind we benefit from enhanced cards featuring top stakes races. Of course, it should come as no surprise that Saratoga will give us two Grade 1 races for Saturday. Gulfstream, Monmouth, and Woodbine will offer outstanding weekend cards with some of their biggest races of the year. All told there has been no better time to take part in all of the quality horse racing action. In fact, this is a weekend that offers some of the highest level of racing for the entire year. As Derby Day approaches this is the perfect time to shore up horse playing skills!

Let’s now take a look at the highlights of this week’s schedule from tracks across North America!

Gulfstream Park – Hallandale, Florida – Saturday and Sunday

Saturday brings a total of nine races to the Gulfstream Park card. Four stakes races are featured. The $200,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes will run separate male and female races. So too in that format are the $100,000 Proud Man (male) and Sharp Susan (female).

First place jockey at Gulfstream Park is Emisael Jaramillo with over $3 million in earnings based on 559 starts with 97 wins, 79 second, and 70 third place finishes.

Meanwhile the second-place jockey at Gulfstream is Edgard J. Zavas with over $2.9 million in winnings built by 614 starts with 105 wins, 98 second, and 71 third place finishes.

Third place at Gulfstream Park is jockey Miguel Angel Vasquez with over $2.7 million in based on 632 starts, 101 wins, 80 second, and 83 third place finishes.

Also factoring big as a trainer at Gulfstream is first place Saffie A. Joseph Jr. Joseph has over $1 million in winnings with 203 starts with 44 wins, 31 second, and 26 third place finishes.

Saratoga – Saratoga Springs, New York – Saturday and Sunday

Of course, it’s always a big Saturday at Saratoga, this time with 11 races on the card. Four of those races are features. The Amsterdam Stakes is worth $150,000 as a Grade 2 race. While the Grade 1 $300,000 Forego will draw significant attention. Then there is the Grade 3 Saranac Stakes worth $100,000. Most important of all is the $500,000 Grade 1 Sword Dancer to top the weekend. Sunday offers 11 races with the $125,000 Grade 3 Shuvee Stakes.

Monmouth Park – Oceanport, New Jersey – Saturday and Sunday

Saturday has a total of 10 races on the Monmouth card. The $125,000 Grade 3 Eatontown Stakes serves as the main event. Sunday has another 10 races on the card with three features. Those are the $100,000 Charles Hesse III Handicap, the $75,000 Eleven North Handicap, and the $75,000 New Jersey Breeders Handicap.

Woodbine – Rexdale, Ontario – Saturday and Sunday

Saturday is set with a schedule of 10 races from Woodbine. Accordingly, the $125,000 Grade 3 Ontario Colleen Stakes is the headliner. And then on Sunday is a total of 10 races with four features. The $135,000 Algoma and Elgin Stakes get things off to a great start followed by the $250,000 Muskoka and Simcoe Stakes.

Del Mar- Del Mar, California – Saturday and Sunday

Saturday for Del Mar is a schedule of 10 races and then following on Sunday are 12 races headlined by the $100,000 Generous Portion Stakes.

Remington Park - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Saturday

Saturday shows nine races are on the Remington Park card.

Laurel Park – Laurel, Maryland – Saturday

Laurel Park has a total of 10 races for the Saturday schedule.

Delaware Park – Wilmington, Delaware – Saturday

Delaware Park brings a total of 10 races for Saturday.

Prairie Meadows - Altoona, Iowa – Saturday and Sunday

Specifically, nine races are on the Saturday and Sunday Prairie Meadows card. Featured for Saturday are the $50,000 Hawkeyes and Cyclones handicaps.

Arlington Park - Arlington Heights, Illinois – Saturday

There are eight races on the Saturday card at Arlington Park headlined by the twin $75,000 Arlington Washington Futurity and Lassie races.
