We’ve reached the month of December and with the expanded conference schedule in the Big Ten, we’ve got a conference game on tap for Saturday as the Michigan Wolverines host the Purdue Boilermakers in the Crisler Center.Both Big Ten teams come into action ranked with Purdue sitting at No.19 in the AP and Michigan ranking No.7. The home teams heads into this matchup with quite an edge as they look to rake up another win against a team that handed them a pair of losses a season ago.... 

The Duke Blue Devils remain one of the nation’s top teams, but they’re not invincible as we saw with their last game, losing to Gonzaga. Of course, they’ve also got a pair of wins against top-10 teams and their Tuesday night opponent, the Indiana Hoosiers, come into their house unranked, looking for an unlikely upset.... 

The Michigan Wolverines are out for revenge on Wednesday night as they host the North Carolina Tar Heels at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines didn’t exactly get the warmest or receptions last year UNC hosted them as the Tar Heels took command of the game. Michigan looks to return the favor this time around.... 

The Nebraska Cornhuskers were 22-11 overall and 13-5 in the Big Ten, but still failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. They failed to record any key non-conference wins to boost their resume so they’ll be motivated this season and win over the Clemson Tigers on Monday is just the type of road win they need.... 

It’s hard to not get excited for a pair of top-5 teams squaring off on the hardwood, particularly this early in the college hoops calendar, but that’s exactly what we have with the No.2 Kansas Jayhawks and No.5 Tennessee Volunteers set for the NIT Season Tip Off Championship Game on Friday night.... 

A pair of top-ranked teams are set to tip off as part of the Las Vegas Invitational on Thursday night with the UCLA Bruins getting their first real test of the young season against the Michigan State Spartans.... 

The Washington Huskies will take on the Texas A&M Aggies on Tuesday night in the second game of three played within four days for the Huskies as part of this new Vancouver Showcase.... 

The Marquette Golden Eagles and Kansas Jayhawks will meet in Brooklyn as part of the National Invitation Tournament Season Tip-Off on Wednesday night, pinning a pair of top-25 teams against each other in an exciting early season bout.... 

Neither the UConn Huskies nor the Iowa Hawkeyes came into this season with many expectations. Both struggled through last season, the Huskies sporting a below-.500 mark and the Hawkeyes pulled up the rear in an overly mediocre Big Ten conference.... 

When you think of the island of Maui, you think of beaches and waves, but on Monday night, it’s also going to be home of the Maui Invitational as the Gonzaga Bulldogs tipoff against the Illinois Fighting Illini.... 

Youth will factor into this game on Sunday afternoon between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Arkansas Razorbacks as Arkansas hosts Indiana at the Bud Walton Arena.... 

Both the Texas A&M Aggies and Gonzaga Bulldogs were Sweet-16 teams last year. As a seven-seed, the Aggies ascend was a bit more surprising, but both teams put up solid performances in the West bracket.
For Gonzaga, their trip to the Sweet-16 was their fourth straight. With that level of success despite turnover, the Bulldogs are no longer an underdog under Mark Few. This team comes into the year as one of the early favorites to cut down the nets at season’s end.... 

The last time these two teams met, the Villanova Wildcats won the NCAA tournament title with a 79-62 victory in Dayton. Now, just seven months later, the Michigan Wolverines are out for revenge, but how do these two teams stack up head-to-head?... 

After beating them last year on the road, the Xavier Musketeers welcome the Wisconsin Badgers to Cincinnati in each team’s first real test of the season. The Badgers are a dangerous team after missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 20 seasons last year while Xavier is an entirely different team coming off a one-seed in the Big Dance a season ago.... 

The Stanford Cardinal have a brush up on Friday night against UNC Wilmington before taking on the big boys in the UNC family, the North Carolina Tar Heels, on Monday. This will be the biggest test on the young season for Stanford and a bigger name opponent for the Tar Heels after UNC had Wofford and Elon early.... 

With a high-scoring battle already in the win column for the No.1 Kansas Jayhawks against No. 10 Michigan State Spartan, Kansas well play their regular season home opener on Monday night against the Vermont Catamounts at the Allen Field House in Lawrence.... 

The Duke Blue Devils made a statement with their win over Kentucky on Tuesday and are now slated to take on the Black Knights of Army West Point on Sunday afternoon, hosting them in the first regular season contest at Cameron Indoor Stadium this season.... 

It’s always hard to anticipate how well teams will playing coming out of the gate, but we should have a good one on our hands on Friday night between the Texas Longhorns and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Both the Big 12 and SEC are represented in this showdown and this one could go down to the wire as Shaka Smart and Mike Anderson each try to lead their respective teams to a key first win of the season.... 

It’s been awhile since the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bearcats tipped off on the hardwood, their last meeting coming in the 2012 NCAA Tournament when the Buckeyes in a Sweet-16 battle. Ohio State ultimately advanced to the Final Four before losing to Kansas that season. It was a tough playoff loss for the Bearcats who got beat handily 81-66, but that was nearly seven years ago and well in the past for both teams. ... 

The college basketball season is back in full force with a full slate of games on Tuesday, including a contest between the Michigan State Spartans and Kansas Jayhawks to kick off the Champions Classic. Kansas enters the seasons atop the rankings, but the Spartans aren’t push overs and will have a chance to strike early against a Kansas team that’ll still be finding their footing after losing three of their top scorers from last season.... 

How can you not get excited about this game? What a way to start off the college basketball season than to put the No.4 Duke Blue Devils and No.2 Kentucky Wildcats against each other on the hardwood in the Champions Classic. These are two of the most successful college basketball programs and two of the best coaches battling it out, right out of the gate.... 

You might not have realized that the college basketball season starts in just over two weeks. The bluebloods of Duke and Kentucky are favored in college basketball futures, with Duke listed at odds of +500 to win the 2019 college basketball national championship, while Kentucky is a close second choice at odds of +550. What about the defending national champs, the Villanova Wildcats? They are not among the favorites, as they are listed with odds of +1000. Let’s look at the latest college basketb... 

The NCAA men’s basketball tournaments featured upsets galore, but the best team in the country has not fallen into that trap. The Villanova Wildcats entered March Madness as the team to beat and has now advanced to the national championship game with a blowout win over Kansas last time out.... 

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish pulled off the most prominent upset of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament last time out, knocking off the juggernaut Connecticut Huskies in the Final Four. It was an exhilarating overtime upset to advance to the national championship game, and now Notre Dame must refocus for one final game....
