LIV Golf Mexico City Betting
It’s back to the grind for the first time following the year’s first major where LIV golfers fared well with five players finishing inside the top 15 at the Masters. LIV Golf heads south of the border for the third time in its history but makes its debut in the capital area this week at LIV Golf Mexico City, the sixth tournament on the season schedule. The three-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Friday, April 25. The circuit played the previous two years in Mayakoba with Joaquin Niemann winning the first of his four LIV titles to start the 2024 campaign. Charles Howell III emerged victorious in the inaugural event in 2023. Jon Rahm kept his streak of top 10 finishes alive with a T9 last time out in Miami, though he finished seven swings behind winner Marc Leishman. Rahm is in a familiar spot as the outright betting favorite on the early line. Niemann, who has already won twice this year, is the second favorite. The top two are the only players with shorter than 10/1 odds.
Club de Golf Chapultepec hosts LIV Golf for the first time but the layout is familiar to some in the field. The venue hosted the World Golf Championships from 2017-2020 with all four past winners scheduled to peg it up this week. Dustin Johnson won the inaugural event in 2017 and again in 2019. Phil Mickelson (2018) and Patrick Reed (2020) also triumphed here. Shooting the week’s only bogey-free round on Sunday in Miami, Leishman helped his all Australian Rippers GC claim their first team win of the season. Playing in treacherous conditions, Rippers became the first team to win with an over-par final score. And only six players finished below par on the Trump National Doral course. At nearly 7,400 yards Club de Golf Chapultepec is another challenge, but scoring should be easier with more tame conditions expected.
Catch all of the action at the LIV Golf Mexico City from Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27.
2025 LIV Golf Mexico City at a Glance
Course: Club de Golf Chapultepec, Mexico
Par: 71
Lengths: 7,385 yards
It’s a new venue for LIV Golf but one that a number of players are familiar with. Club de Golf Chapultepec hosted four WGC events and seven Mexican Opens, most recently in 2014. At more than a mile above sea level players will have to adjust their distance calculations with balls soaring through the thin air. As a result big hitters like Bryson DeChambeau and Dean Burmester could have an edge.

Just like the last tournament in Miami Rahm opened as the betting favorite with Joaquin Niemann right behind him. Niemann struggled at Trump National finishing T33, his worst since the second event of the 2023 season. Rahm extended his string of top 10 finishes to 17 with a T9 in Miami ending any hopes of his first win this year with a final round 74. Phil Mickelson is playing his best golf since joining LIV earning his best result in Hong Kong with a solo third and he was one of six players to finish under-par in Miami getting sixth at 1-under. Sandwiched in between was a T19 in Singapore. Lefty has done well on this course winning the WGC in 2018 and finishing T7 the year before.
After a number of close calls that included three runner-up finishes, the veteran Leishman won his first LIV Golf title surviving the elements at Trump National for a 1-shot victory over Charl Schwartzel. It was a little unexpected after Leishman finished T51 in the previous event in Singapore. Leishman became the 22nd different player to claim the first place prize at a LIV tournament.
LIV Golf has visited Mexico the past two years with stops at El Camaleon in Mayakoba, which is located along the coast. There are differences between the host venues with Club de Golf Chapultepec more than a mile above sea level. In 2023 Charles Howell III shot a final round 63 at El Camaleon to win by four swings. A year later, Joaquin Niemann edged Sergio Garcia in a playoff for his first LIV Golf title.
