The penultimate tournament of the season featuring individual play takes this week with LIV Golf Chicago returning to Bolingbrook for the second consecutive year and to the Chicago area for a fourth straight season. The three-day, 54-hole event starts on Friday, August 8 from Bolingbrook Golf Course. Jon Rahm’s last victory of any kind took place at this event nearly 12 months ago and predictably he opened as the outright betting favorite. Rahm’s three-shot victory was his second in three LIV starts, the only titles of his brief LIV career. The first two editions of the tournament took place at Rich Harvest Farms with Cam Smith (2022) and Bryson DeChambeau (2023) emerging victorious. DeChambeau opened as the second favorite with Smith a bit farther down the odds board.
Located in the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook, the club opened in 2002 and is ranked as the No. 1 public course in Illinois. At more than 7,200 yards and par 71 it’s short by pro standards but it is a challenging layout that features elevated tee boxes, rolling fairways and numerous lakes scattered around the property. Rahm’s win a year ago helped him win the season-long individual championship and he’ll need some good fortune to repeat. Joaquin Niemann has a significant lead in the standings after winning his fifth title of the season and seventh overall last time out in the UK. Captained by Rahm, Legion XIII has a commanding lead in the team standings after winning for a fourth time this season at LIV Golf UK.

Everyone should be rested for the sprint to the finish with nearly two weeks since the last tournament. Bubba Watson and Caleb Surratt are hoping to continue the momentum of their best finishes in their LIV careers. Watson was consistent in the UK scoring 66-68-65 to finish in second three swings off the lead. Surratt, who hadn’t recorded a top 10 finish in 23 prior LIV starts, was a shot behind Watson for third. Surratt also looks to make amends for his showing last year when he opened with an 80 and finished dead last in the 54-man field.

How can you ignore what DeChambeau did at The Open? Playing the final 54 holes at 16-under he was one shot off Scheffler’s winning total of 17-under. In his last two starts in this tournament only one player has finished better than Smith giving plenty of upside to the Australian. With more MCs than top 10s in his last six starts, Smith’s odds have grown. However, he won in 2023 at the Centurion Club and last year finished one shot back of Rahm at JCB.

Closing as the outright betting favorite last year with odds around 5/1, Rahm had the best score of the day with a second round 64 en route to his second win in three LIV starts. He’s been a model of consistency since joining LIV finishing inside the top 10 in all but one of his 23 completed starts. Oh, and the tournament that didn’t end in a top 10 Rahm was T11 in Dallas in June. DeChambeau has been on a nice run lately with nine top 10s in his last 12 overall starts.

Between them the three past winners have eight LIV titles, but some of the best golfers in the circuit have managed just one title this year with DeChambeau winning in Korea. Last year Rahm won for the second time on the LIV Tour and the 23rd time in his pro career.

Wager disputes (claims)

If following an initial review of the case there remains any doubt regarding the wager type, line, market, amount, or any other detail, the claim will be escalated to the BookMaker management team. All decisions made by them are final.

With the Cash Out feature you can choose to eliminate a wager that's already been placed, and receive back either a portion, or your full stake amount.
Cash Out is selectively available on certain events, fixtures, and markets.
