Nick Ball vs. Sam Goodman
Ball said that however this fight goes, it will be in his favor. “He'll probably stand and try and fight, won't he?” Ball said to the media, “He wants to become world champion. Then he'll realize he can't do that and then I'll take over. Either way, whatever way it's going to go, it's going to be in my favor.”
Goodman is moving up to featherweight for this fight. He was ranked No. 4 by The Ring in the junior featherweight division and twice had a bout against junior featherweight champion Naoya Inoue cancelled. "I got into this sport to become a world champion, and this is best route to achieve it and that's why I'm taking it on.” Goodman said to the media,” It's a massive opportunity and a lifelong dream for me to become a world champion and August 16, I get to achieve it."
Goodman said Ball is the best fight he has faced. "One hundred percent, on paper you have to say, he's got the runs on the board, but we'll see fight night," he said to the media, "He's fit, he's strong, he's got underrated boxing skills as well. He's a good little fighter. He's small, he's compact and he uses that quite well to his advantage, makes a small target of himself. You don't become a world champion without being a good fighter.”
