Krzysztof Glowacki vs. Maris Briedis

This is one of the most even championship fights of the year thus far. Briedis may be the higher rated boxer but Glowacki is a live dog that brings championship credibility. Gamblers will find good cases to take either side and DAZN will be thrilled to have such a championship matchup as its property.

World Boxing Council Cruiserweight Title

Krzysztof Glowacki is a past World Boxing Organization Cruiserweight champion from 2015-2016 that has recently won that same interim title in his last bout. With only one loss for his career he has built up a solid base of trust with gamblers and fight fans.

Krzysztof Glowacki is 32 years old and a native and current resident of Poland. He stands at six feet tall with a reach of 75 inches and fights from a southpaw stance. Glowacki, also known as “The Head,” is currently ranked fourth in the world.

Glowacki last fought on November 10, 2018 when he faced Maksim Vlasov at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago for the interim World Boxing Organization world cruiserweight title. Glowacki scored a 12 round unanimous decision win in the bout.

Mairis Briedis will enter this championship bout against Glowacki ranked as the number one best active cruiserweight by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and Ring Magazine. BoxRec has him ranked second in the world. He is the first Latvian to win a world boxing title as he held the World Boxing Council cruiserweight title from 2017-2018.

Briedis last stepped into the ring on November 10, 2018 when he faced Noel Gevor for the vacant World Boxing Council diamond cruiserweight title at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Briedis scored a unanimous decision win in the bout.

Prior to that on July 21 Briedis faced Brandon Deslaurier in Moscow for a 10-round bout. Briedis scored a unanimous decision win in the matchup.

Those last two wins have been quite the redemption for Briedis as they followed the one and only loss of his professional career. On January 27, 2018 Briedis faced Oleksandr Usyk for the World Boxing Council world cruiserweight and World Boxing Organization world cruiserweight titles. Usyk scored a majority decision win in the 12-round bout.

Briedis is 34 years of age and is a native and current resident of Latvia. He stands at six feet, one inch tall with a reach of 75 inches and fights from an orthodox stance.
