Before that on January 13, 2019 Figueroa met Moises Flores at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angles, California. Figueroa won a third-round knockout win in the scheduled 12 round bout. Flores went down twice in the third round which caused the waiver.
On September 30, 2018 Figueroa met Oscar Escandon at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. Figueroa scored a 10th round knockout win as Escandon went down in the 10th round and the 10 count was waived.
On August 4, 2018 Figueroa met Luis Roy Suarez Cruz at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. Figueroa scored a first-round technical knockout in the scheduled eighth round fight.
Javier Nicolas Chacon is 38 years old and ranked 16th in the world. He is a native of Las Heras, Mendoza, Argentina where he still resides. Chacon has had two previous title bout chances and lost each time.
Chacon last stepped into the ring on May 3, 2019 when he faced Diego Herminio Alejandro Sananco in Los Heras. Chacon scored six round unanimous decision win.
On March 8, 2019 Chacon faced Luis Emanuel Cusolito at Cilla Delores. Chacon won the bout in a 10-round unanimous decision.
