Austin Trout vs. Terrell Gausha

Both Austin Trout and Terrell Gausha are on the comeback trail and have had their share of recent struggles. While Trout is held in higher esteem a win by the former champ is no sure thing.

FS1 Junior Middleweight Bout

Former World Boxing Association Super Welterweight champion Austin Trout will get back into action for the first time since his loss to Jermell Charlo on June 9, 2018. Charlo scored a majority decision win in the 12-round bout that was for the World Boxing Council World Super Welterweight title. The bout took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Trout went down in the third and ninth rounds and lost for the third time in four fights. Trout is currently ranked 16th in the world.

Austin Trout is 33 years old, a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico where he still resides. Trout is a southpaw that stands at five feet, 9.5 inches tall with a reach of 72 inches. His recent problems began on May 21, 2016, when he lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Jermall Charlo in the first of two championship fights between the two. That bout took place at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and was for the International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight title.

Following his loss to Charlo, Trout faced Jarrett Hurd on October 14, 2017, for the International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight title. It was another disappointing defeat for Trout in which he lost an RTD in the 10th round of the scheduled 12 round bout that took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Trout then had a much-needed tune-up bout win by unanimous decision over Juan De Angel on February 17, 2018, at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. That win set up the rematch with Jermell Charlo that he lost by majority decision.

Terrell Gausha is 31 years old and ranked 68th in the world. He is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and now resides at Encino, California. Gausha stands at five feet, 10 inches tall with a reach of 72 inches. Gausha is coming off a first-round knockout win over Joey Hernandez on December 22, 2018, in a bout that was scheduled for 10 rounds at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. That followed a unanimous decision loss to Erislandy Lara on October 14, 2017.
