U.S. Presidential Elections

2024 U.S. Presidential election odds continue to get a lot of attention. Last week it was all about how the odds would move on former President Donald Trump after the assassination attempt and this week it is all about Democratic odds after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race. Vice President Kamala Harris is the current favorite to win the Democratic nomination but nothing is certain until after next month’s Democrat convention in Chicago. The overall odds on the Republican Party and the Democratic Party winning the election have not moved much this week and the odds on Trump winning the election have also not seen much movement this week. The odds on other candidates who could win the Democratic nomination have moved dramatically with Biden out of the race. We have been saying for months that if you looked at the current odds you would have a hard time believing that Biden would still be on the Democrat Ticket in November and now we know he won’t be. The next question is whether or not Harris will be the Democratic candidate for President after next month’s Democrat convention. We’ll take a look at how the election odds have changed with this week’s update.

This first option in terms of politics betting is simply on which party will win the 2024 U.S. Presidential election. The odds this week have basically stayed the same with the Republicans more than a 2-1 favorite against the Democrats with the Other Party as a big longshot.

2024 U.S. Presidential odds continue to move with a number of contenders seeing their odds rise or fall. The focus this week is on Harris now that Biden is out of the race. The odds on Harris moved, as she is now the favorite to win the Democrat nomination.

Harris is now listed with odds of +212 to be the next President of the United States. Even though the odds on Harris are as low as they have ever been, it is not a given that she is the Democrat nominee. Many in the Democrat Party don’t like Harris and she is seen as more incompetent than Biden. Perhaps it won’t matter, but the odds on other potential Democratic candidates have a lot of value right now.

It was thought that the person who would be the choice for the Democrats would be Gavin Newsom but oddsmakers don’t think so, as his odds have yet to move much indicating he has a chance. His odds have risen to +18233 this week. As we have said, the problem with backing Newsom is that he is best known for ruining the great state of California and his policies are very unpopular.

The odds on Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer have finally gone back to where they belong, as she is listed at +20197. As we said months ago, it is hard to see the Democratic Party nominating Whitmer, as she is considered more unlikable than Harris and Whitmer is best known for doing a terrible job during the pandemic in the state of Michigan, and the odds finally reflect indicate as much.

The odds on former first lady Michelle Obama have dropped a bit this week, as she is listed at +2154. It is thought by many that former President Barack Obama is actually calling the shots in the current Biden administration and perhaps he could convince his wife to run and “save” the day.

Other possible Democratic names to keep an eye on are former first lady Hillary Clinton whose odds are surprisingly high at +24679. Even though she has endorsed Harris, some people still think Clinton could be a factor at next month’s Democrat convention.

The other big Democrat longshots are Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker whose odds are at +85966 and Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro at odds of +40424. If you are looking at the longhots then Obama, Clinton and Shapiro are the ones who have value.

The Republican side got a lot of attention last week with former President Donald Trump having his odds going from -182 to -233 and this week they moved slightly to -207. If something were to happen to Trump then the Republicans would need another candidate. Trump named J.D. Vance as his Vice Presidential running mate and the odds on Vance are listed at +16027.
