2025 MLB Sunday Night Baseball Betting
Into the final month of the MLB regular season ESPN added two crucial matchups with playoff implications to its Sunday Night Baseball schedule. Not only is the AL East matchup between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees one of the fiercest in all of sports, both teams are in the thick of the division and wild card races heading into the final weeks, adding more intrigue to the longstanding feud. The final game of the season series takes place on September 14 from Fenway Park in Boston with the Sox having won eight of the first 10 meetings.
On September 21 the worldwide leader in sports puts AL MVP favorite Cal Raleigh and his Seattle Mariners on display in an AL West showdown with the Houston Astros. A 4-game Seattle winning streak coupled with Houston’s 2-game slide earlier in the week closed the gap to one game in the division standings. At the time of this writing Raleigh led all of baseball with 53 home runs and was tied for second in RBIs. Second place in the AL West isn’t guaranteed a wild card berth, so winning the division is a top priority for both clubs.
There will be plenty of betting options for the Sept. 14 AL East showdown between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
A prolonged slump that led to a fall in the standings might be over. The Yankees went on a recent tear overtaking the Red Sox in the AL East and putting pressure on first place Toronto. A steak of 11 wins in 14 games began with a victory over Boston on Aug. 24. It was a significant win since the Sox had won the previous eight encounters. The old saying in baseball is that good pitching stops good hitting. That will be put the test on Sunday with New York’s top scoring offense scheduled to face AL Cy Young candidate Garrett Crochet.
In their 11 wins during their recent tear the Yankees averaged almost 7.3 runs. They lead the majors averaging more than 5.2 runs and have bashed a MLB best 245 home runs. Six players have at least 20 home runs led by Aaron Judge, who is making a case for MVP. Judge leads the majors with a .321 average and has 44 homers and 98 RBIs. His 104 walks is most among AL players and his .442 OBP and 1.103 OPS leads the majors.
The Sox aren’t nearly as potent on offense but they manufacture runs at a decent clip to average 4.95 per game. And they took a hit recently with Roman Anthony and Wilyer Abreu going on the IL. Anthony was hitting .292 with eight homers before being shelved while Abreu led the team in home runs for most of the season. His 22 dingers still ranks second on the club behind Trevor Story.
Led by Crochet the Sox have one of the better staff ERA’s in baseball at 3.73. The lefty is scheduled to make his fourth start this season against the Yankees and he’s been deadly the last two allowing just one earned run in each outing covering 15.1 frames. He’s allowed nine hits, two of which were home runs, and struck out 18. Crochet rebounded from his worst outing when he allowed seven runs and four homers to Cleveland by blanking the Athletics on three hits over seven frames his last time out. On the years he’s 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.
Primetime Baseball. Big-Time Bets.
The spotlight shines on Sunday Night Baseball as the Yankees storm into Fenway Park for baseball’s most storied rivalry.
Will New York’s star power silence Boston on enemy turf? Or will the Red Sox rise up in front of the Fenway faithful and remind the Yankees who runs the rivalry?
