2021 Palmetto Championship at Congaree Betting
A new event on the PGA Tour schedule for 2021 is the Palmetto Championship at Congaree. It will be taking the place of the RBC Canadian Open which was cancelled due to the COVID restrictions in Canada. The Palmetto Championship at Congaree will be held from Thursday, June 10, 2021 through Sunday, June 13, 2021. Even though the event is a new one on the PGA Tour schedule, it is expected to attract a number of top players, including World No. 1 Dustin Johnson. A total of 156 players will be teeing it up to take on this fabulous course located near Gillisonville, South Carolina.

The Congaree Golf Club is considered one of the best golf courses in the United States but it has not been played that often by the world’s top players. “There’s a mystique to this that’s created some curiosity among the players,” Ty Votaw, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the PGA Tour, said to the media. Dustin Johnson said he has heard nothing but great reviews for the course. “I have heard nothing but great reviews about the golf course at Congaree and have no doubt it will provide a stiff challenge for all of us on the PGA Tour,” Johnson said to the media.
John McNeely, Managing Director for Congaree Golf Club, said that the course is tough, but fair. “That’s a tough balance,” said McNeely to the media, "We have generous landing areas off the tee. But up around the greens, you’d better miss the ball to certain places. We want the professionals that are going to be here to be tested. The best player wins.”
Congaree was named the top new private golf course for 2018 by Golf Digest. It was listed at No. 39 in Golf Digest’s list of Greatest American Golf Courses.
2009 U.S. Open Champion Lucas Glover said the course lives up to the billing. “You hear so many things about places and most of them don’t deliver,” said Glover to the media, “This one delivered.”
