94th Academy Awards Betting Odds

Best Picture Odds

The Power of the Dog -125

CODA +112

Belfast +1750

West Side Story +3500

Don’t Look Up +4500

King Richard +5000

Dune +5000

Drive my Car +5000

Licorice Pizza +8000

Nightmare Alley +22000

The odds for Best Picture have moved toward CODA in recent weeks. What looked like a sure thing for The Power of the Dog is now almost a tossup with CODA. If you think that the late line movement was right then you probably have missed the boat, as CODA could have been had at much higher odds. Conversely, the value could now be on The Power of the Dog if you want to go against the odds move. And don’t forget about Belfast, as that picture could shock everyone and win.

Best Actor Odds

Will Smith -1050

Benedict Cumberbatch +775

Andrew Garfield +2800

Denzel Washington +11000

Javier Bardem +14000

The Best Actor Oscar looks to be going to Will Smith. It is somewhat of a surprise that Smith has gotten so much attention in terms of Best Actor odds, as Cumberbatch is the better actor.  The fact remains that Smith is getting a lot of love for his role in King Richard and it appears that he will win this year’s Oscar.

Best Actress Odds

Jessica Chastain -172

Nicole Kidman +450

Olivia Coleman +700

Kristen Stewart +850

Penelope Cruz +1500

If you want the best bet on the board at the most reasonable price then it is Chastain to win Best Actress. Her odds should be far lower, as she seems to be more of a sure thing than some of the other picks on the board at higher prices. Chastain was really good in The Eyes of Tammy Faye and it would be a major surprise if she doesn’t win the award for Best Actress.

Best Director Odds

Jane Campion -2000

Kenneth Branagh +2000

Ryusuka Hamaguchi +2500

Steven Spielberg +3000

Paul Thomas Anderson +3000

There doesn’t seem to be much doubt that Jane Campion is going to win the Oscar for Best Director for The Power of the Dog. No one else is even listed with odds approaching single-digits, so this is one category where the verdict seems to be in.

Best Supporting Actor Odds

Troy Kotsur -500

Kodi Smit-McPhee +350

Ciaran Hinds +3500

JK Simmons +10000

Jesse Plemons +12000

Most of the money for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor has come in on Kotsur who is now listed as a big favorite at -500. His odds were as high as +300 at one point. If you don’t think the smart money is right, and it is always risky to go against the smart money, then Kodi Smit-McPhee has some value at odds of +350. Kotsur may very well win the Oscar in this category, but Smit-McPhee should not be listed at odds this high, as his performance in The Power of the Dog was excellent.

Best Supporting Actress Odds

Ariana DeBose -3000

Kirsten Dunst +2500

Aunjanue Ellis +3500

Judi Dench +3500

Jessie Buckley +6000

Another category for the 2022 Oscars that seems to be over in terms of the betting odds in the one for Best Supporting Actress with Ariana DeBose listed as a huge favorite. DeBose seems the logical choice for her performance in Belfast, but if you want a longshot at least worth mentioning then you never should count out Judi Dench.
