Horse Racing Odds - Mrs. Revere Stakes Race Preview

Mrs-Revere-Picks

Churchill Downs is one of the few tracks which still has tremendous championship racing on its docket on a week in, week out basis this time of year, and this Saturday is no exception. Three-year old fillies which didn't run at the Breeders' Cup will have a shot at a prize pool exceeding $200,000 at the Mrs. Revere Stakes.

You can find horse racing odds at BookMaker.eu at the online racebook.

ODDS ANALYSIS

1: Robillard
2: Return to Grace
3: Bobbi Grace
4: Prado's Sweet Ride
5: Tammy the Torpedo
6: Devine Aida
7: Onus
8: Kathballu
9: Darling Sky
10: Isabella Sings
11: Partisan Politics
12: Season Ticket
13: Rainha Da Bateria
14: Celestine

This is a huge field by any standards at 14 fillies, and there are even a couple waiting in the wings as alternates if there are scratches.

Prime Power suggests this race should be a runaway for Partisan Politics thanks to her 155.0 rating, but that shouldn't be taken as gospel at all. Instead, with a field which is this big, it's very likely that there isn't a filly that will be lined at even 3 to 1, particularly with Partisan Politics ending up with an outside post.

FAVORITE TO FOLLOW

For our money, we love Onus as a favorite. We're not sure if she will or will not be the bona fide favorite, but either way, she's sure to be a popular bet even though she hasn't raced in almost two full months and isn't used to running at these big time tracks.

Since needing three races to break her maiden, Onus has won three races in a row by eight, 10 and 4 1/2 lengths, margins which shouldn't be ignored even if the quality of foe hasn't been fantastic. Onus did win the Commonwealth Oaks going away at Laurel Park in September, and she's had great workouts leading into this race. If she wins this one, you won't be getting great odds on Onus in the future, so be sure to act now at the Mrs. Revere Stakes.

UNDERDOG TO WATCH

Tammy the Torpedo ran in the Breeders' Cup last year in the Juvenile Turf Fillies race and was seventh best and well off of the pace. She's only raced once this year, that coming at Belmont Park, and she won handily against a bad field.

That said, she's got a chance to make a good impression here as likely at least an 8 to 1 shot at the Mrs. Revere Stakes, and if her 90+ Beyer Speed Ratings of late are any indication, she might have a great case.

ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION

For our money, there's only one horse in this bunch which could've had a legitimate chance to race with the big girls at the Breeders' Cup this year, and that filly is Onus. She's a fantastic stalker by nature and is coming off of a race in which she posted a 103 Beyer Speed Rating.

Sure, the layoff is a concern, but who else is really out there to stop her? Kathballu has the best consistent Beyer Speed Ratings of the bunch, but she hasn't won since May and has never won a graded stakes race, while Partisan Politics, though successful in ungraded stakes races, can't see to get out of her own way when she's matched up with the big girls.
