Home is where the heart is, and the Los Angeles Galaxy are happy to be back after two straight road defeats. The Galaxy have been flawless at home this season, notching a 6-0-0 record, and they will be out to make it seven wins in seven home tilts against New York City FC this weekend. NYCFC have overcome a sluggish start, and the Cityzens are now hot coming into this tilt. Their recent upturn in form has them optimistic about getting a result in LA.

Odds Analysis
NYCFC started the season 0-2-4, and the Cityzens appeared to be playing for draws far too often. They were still getting used to manager Dome Torrent after Patrick Vieira left for Ligue 1, but they have recently performed a lot better, and their fans are optimistic about their chances going forward. This club has looked much better in defense over the last month with three wins and a draw in their last four matches, and they have let in just one goal during that stretch.
The Galaxy lost both of their road tilts over the last few days, but they didn’t play poorly on offense in either loss. They were able to net two goals in a 3-2 loss to the New York Red Bulls, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic nearly scored a couple times in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Columbus on Wednesday night. What’s more concerning has been the play of the defense. A porous back line led to the Galaxy missing the playoffs last year, and they did not look sharp in either loss.
Key Absences
There are three injuries of note for the visitors ahead of this match. Defender Ronald Matarrita has been declared questionable with a calf injury, forward Alexandru Mitrita is questionable with a foot injury, and midfielder James Sands is questionable with an adductor injury.
As for the hosts, the Galaxy are without midfielders Perry Kitchen and Romain Alessandrini for this match due to injury, while defender Julian Araujo is questionable with a foot issue. Midfielder Jonathan Dos Santos seems very unlikely to play after coming off in the first half of Wednesday’s game, and that will test the depth at midfield.
Player to Watch
New York City FC brought in Brazilian striker Heber from Croatia in late March, and it didn’t take long for that move to pay off. Heber didn’t get his first start until a few weeks ago, but this attack has looked much more lively with him at the top. He has two goals and two assists over NYCFC’s past four matches, and his proactive play has opened up space for his teammates. The Galaxy have had some real trouble in defense lately, so he could have a great day.
Prop Bet of the Week – LA Galaxy 1, New York City FC 1 +480
The Galaxy will be playing on just two days rest, and they don’t have two of their more dynamic midfielders. They will have a hard time scoring multiple goals here despite playing at home, and I think NYCFC will net a goal themselves.
Free Soccer Betting Pick
I think there’s a good chance that NYCFC go on the road and get a result after a full week of rest, so I’ll take them on the goal line here.
Major League Soccer Odds: New York City FC 1, Los Angeles Galaxy 1
