NFL Week 6 Ugly Dog Picks - Bet on Football

NFL Week 6 Ugly Dog Picks

If you want to win money betting NFL games then you need to be willing to take teams no one else wants to bet. We refer to these teams as ugly dogs and you really have to hold your nose sometimes when you bet on them, but history has shown that going against the public works. We went 3-3 with the picks in Week 5 and that takes the season record to 11-15-1. We have a total of five picks for this week. Let’s take a look at the Week 6 Ugly Dog picks.

Week 6 Ugly Dog Picks

Atlanta Falcons +3 at Minnesota Vikings

The Atlanta Falcons are 0-5 and beginning the search for a new head coach and general manager, as Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff were fired. Raheem Morris will take over as the interim head coach and his first task is to get his players focused for a trip to Minnesota on Sunday. The Vikings are not in much better shape, as they come into this game at 1-4 and they could be without star running back Dalvin Cook who has an abductor injury. The Vikings played well last week in a loss at Seattle and this line appears really short, with Minnesota laying just three. We’ll take the winless Falcons as the first ugly dog pick of the week.

Philadelphia Eagles +8 vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Eagles have just one win this season but in the NFC East they are just a half game out of first place. Philadelphia has major problems on offense starting with quarterback Carson Wentz who has not played well this season. He doesn’t figure to have much success this week against a tough Baltimore defense. This is no real reason to think that Philadelphia can hang with the Ravens, but once again, that is the point of these plays. They are ugly and oftentimes go against conventional wisdom. We’ll take the Eagles plus the points as an ugly dog.

Cincinnati Bengals +8 at Indianapolis Colts

The Bengals got back to their losing ways last week after getting their first win of the season. Cincinnati is playing hard and rookie quarterback Joe Burrow has had some good moments. On the other side, Philip Rivers continues to play poorly for the Colts, but head coach Frank Reich has said that he is not ready to replace Rivers. The Colts still have a winning record at 3-2, but if they lose this game to the Bengals and Rivers plays poorly, Reich may have to change his tune. We’ll take the Bengals as an ugly dog.

New York Jets +8 at Miami Dolphins

The Jets are a complete mess and until head coach Adam Gase is fired this team is going to struggle. They are getting more than a touchdown in this game against a Miami team that has a record of 2-3. At least the Dolphins are trying hard and Ryan Fitzpatrick is a far better quarterback than anything the Jets have. The Jets have been a major problem for us this season, as we have been stuck taking them on a regular basis and we have to do so again this week. We’ll take the Jets plus the points as an ugly dog.

Denver Broncos +8.5 at New England Patriots

The Broncos are 1-3 and look like a team going nowhere fast. They have no real answer at quarterback even if Drew Lock is healthy. The Patriots should be back close to full strength this week and that means Cam Newton back under center. Newton has played well for the Patriots and New England has looked like a contender when he has been healthy. The Patriots come into this game at 2-2 and can’t afford to be losing to a subpar Denver team. This has all the looks of a big New England win at home, so that means we go the other way and take the Broncos plus the points as an ugly dog.
