Here at Bookmaker sportsbook we’re previewing the welterweight bout between Danny Garcia and Paul Malignaggi on August 1st, 2015 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Reigning light welterweight champion Danny Garcia will look to keep his perfect record alive as he makes the jump to the welterweight class, taking on Paul Malignaggi on August 1st, 2015 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Considering his flawless record, Garcia should be favored in boxing betting.

Danny Garcia is 30-0 coming into this fight, accumulating all of those victories in the light welterweight division. He has defeated 17 of his opponents by knockout. Garcia defeated Lamont Peterson by majority decision on April 11th and also took down Rod Salka last August, winning by knockout in the second round. The 27-year-old is the reigning WBA (Super) and The Ring Magazine champion in the light welterweight weight class and will look to continue that success fighting as a welterweight. Garcia also has wins over notable opponents like Mauricio Herrera,  Érik Morales and Kendall Holt. He made his professional debut in 2007 and won his first five bouts by knockout. He has defeated ten of his 30 opponents in the first or second rounds.

Paul Malignaggi has a record of 33-6 with seven knockouts. Malignaggi will be eager to get back in the winning column after going 2-1 in his last three fights. This will be his first fight in more than a year. The 34-year-old fell to Shawn Porter in a fourth-round technical knockout in his latest bout on April 19th, 2014 in a fight for the IBF Welterweight title. Malignaggi’s latest win was in December 2013 when he defeated Zab Judah by unanimous decision. Before that, he fell to Adrien Broner by split decision in June 2013. In his last ten fights, Malignaggi has gone 7-3 with wins over Pablo César Cano, Vyacheslav Senchenko and José Cotto included in that time frame. The Brooklyn native made his professional boxing debut in 2001, getting off to a 21-0 start before suffering his first loss in June 2006 to Miguel Cotto. A win against such a notable favorite like Garcia would be a nice confidence-booster for Malignaggi at this point in his career in boxing betting.
