Lee will try to keep the belt in this showdown.
Billy Joe Saunders has a professional record of 22-0 with 12 knockouts, so he’s certainly deserved this shot, but it will be his first chance at a major belt. Saunders has several lower-level titles on his resume, the most recent of which was the WBO international middleweight title over Gary O’Sullivan in 2013. In his last bout, Saunders defeated Yoann Bloyer by fourth-round technical knockout. He will aim to keep up the sparkling start to his career, and while he’s the slightest of underdogs, it certainly would not be a surprise if he defeated Lee.
This fight was originally scheduled for September 19th, 2015, in Limerick, Ireland, but Lee contracted a virus which caused the delay. Instead of Lee possibly fighting at less than 100 percent, both sides agreed it made more sense to wait a few extra weeks. Lee should be fully recovered, but the fact he recently did have to deal with an illness is something else to consider if you are on the fence about which way to bet in boxing wagering.
