Los Angeles Chargers at Baltimore Ravens NFL Week 6 Lines

Chargers at Ravens NFL Week 6 Betting

The Baltimore Ravens haven't been kind to those with weak hearts to this point of the season. Having already partaken in a pair of overtime games and two others that were decided by a grand total of three points, the Ravens have certainly given their wagering supporter’s their money’s worth. Regardless, John Harbaugh’s squad enters this potential playoff preview with the Los Angeles Chargers having won four of its five played games which finds the team currently sitting in the catbird seat of the AFC North. The Bolts also find themselves atop the AFC West standings having last won a barnburner at home against the Cleveland Browns in a game that played out to being a live bettor’s dream at online sportsbooks. This bout will pit two of the more exciting quarterbacks in the league up against one another which figures to have the scoreboard operators busy right from the opening kick; in the eyes of early total bettors.

Odds Analysis

The look-ahead lines had the home-based Ravens favored by 3.5-points and the total set at a modest 48.5. With the Chargers fantastic comeback win fresh in NFL bettor’s minds, the point spread quickly jumped in favor of the visitors once the betting lines were reopened to the public following the conclusion of Week 5’s slate. Early wager reports have an absurd 98 percent of tickets and 99 percent of the money booked falling in line with the visiting Chargers. Because of the influx of LA money, the number to beat has been moved to -3 with heavier juice still attached to the Chargers. Though LA only just played to its first over of the season last week, total bettors have hammered it - so much so that it’s moved 2.5 points to 52! Seventy-nine percent of both the tickets and money forced the line move well-past oddsmakers initial expectations.

Player Prop Targets

Mark Andrews is fresh off his biggest showing of the season after ripping the Indianapolis Colts for 147 yards and a couple scores on 11 receptions. Though LA has done a fantastic job of shutting opposing wide receivers down, it’s had major issues defending opposing tight ends. Case in point, Derwin James and company have conceded 31 receptions, 410 yards and 4 TD to opposing tight ends, but just 574 yards and 3 TD on 54 receptions to wide receivers. The outputs find the unit ranked No. 2 at defending wide receivers and No. 30 defending tight ends. With that, Andrews will be in line to score another huge showing for his reception/yardage/touchdown prop and fantasy backers come Sunday. I’d also take a gander at what Lamar Jackson’s rushing yards prop clocks in at. He wasn’t asked to do much with his legs against Indianapolis, and the only dual-threat QB LA has run up against has been Patrick Mahomes; he went for 45 yards on four carries.

Free ATS Pick

It’s going to be real interesting to see what each of these teams have in the tank after being forced to go all-out last week. LA was just pushed to the limit by the Browns in a game that saw 89 points dent the scoreboard. Baltimore was forced to battle back from a 16-point deficit with only 13 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter just to force overtime; they’d ultimately win nearly 10 minutes into the extra session. With that, I’m expecting some tired legs to hit the gridiron on Sunday afternoon and for it to affect the overall game flow right from the opening kick. Though both defense’s problem areas coincide directly with both offense’s strengths, I’m still having a hard time buying into this one flying over the total like the betting market suggests. As for whom wins, flip a coin. Missing out on the 3.5 opener with the Chargers will keep me away from betting a side pre-game. This should be competitive either way. See how it plays out early and try to snag a touchdown with either side via live betting.

NFL Pick: Ravens 24, Chargers 23
