The 28-year-old fell to Demian Maia in his bout before that on August 1st, losing by submission in the second round. It was his first loss since 2013. Magny has gone 8-2 in his last ten fights.
Another bout to watch on the main card is the 145-pound showdown between Ricardo Lamas and Diego Sanchez. Lamas is 15-4 in his career and will be eager to get back in the winning column after falling to Chad Mendes in August in a first-round technical knockout. Lamas’ last win came in November 2014 when he defeated Dennis Bermudez by submission in the first round. He has gone 2-2 in his last four fights. Sanchez is 25-7 so far and has defeated eight opponents by knockout and nine by submission. The 33-year-old defeated Ross Pearson by split decision in his latest fight in June 2014 and will be returning to the ring after more than a year off. Sanchez started out his career at 17-0 before suffering his first loss in 2007. He has a record of 2-3 in his last five fights.
Also fighting on the main card UFC Fight Night 78 are Efrain Escudero, 24-9, and Leandro Silva, 18-3-1,at 155 pounds as well as Jussier de Silva, 18-3, and Henry Cejudo, 9-0, at 125 pounds. In all, there are 12 matches scheduled to take place in MMA gambling.
