UFC 202 Betting LinesUFC Betting Online: First it was on. Then it was off. Then it was on. Then it was off. Now it's back on.

Conor McGregor has certainly made himself a household name in UFC over the course of the last several months by essentially pulling himself out of UFC 200 by not obliging with promotion demands for the event in Las Vegas. He's always wanted another crack at Nate Diaz after suffering his first ever UFC loss to the lightweight, and now, he's going to get his chance.

The fight originally booked to headline UFC 200 is now going to headline UFC 202 in August.

Nate Diaz Recent Form

The first fight against McGregor really came out of nowhere for Diaz. He's been fighting all over the place in the welterweight division and the lightweight division, and he even had a catchweight fight against Rafael dos Anjos at 160 pounds (Diaz missed weight by 0.6 pounds, but the fight proceeded anyway).

In general, Diaz's form hasn't been good. He's lost three of his last six fights, including getting knocked out by Josh Thomson in San Jose in a UFC on FOX event. Just the fact that he got on the UFC 196 card was something else for him, as it was the first time he fought on a Pay-Per-View card since December 2011 at UFC 141.

Conor McGregor Recent Form

The featherweight division really wasn't providing any problems for McGregor, so he tried to take a step all the way up into the welterweight division and failed, getting submitted by Diaz in the second round at UFC 196.

That was a quick turnaround for McGregor anyway. He had just fought not even three months earlier at UFC 194, albeit for just 13 seconds when he knocked out Jose Aldo to unify the featherweight championship.

Prior to that, McGregor took care of Chad Mendes, Dennis Siver, Dustin Poirier, Diego Brandao, Max Holloway and Marcus Brimage in his career.

Keys to the Fight

The win for Diaz over McGregor at UFC 196 really came out of nowhere. The Irishman was a massive -400 favorite to win the first bout, and no one figured that his jump in weight class was going to prove to be any sort of a hindrance.

However, McGregor was truly outclassed from the get go. He lost the striking battle 77-61, and he ended up getting taken down once and in submission attempts twice.

Diaz has to try to keep this fight on the mat as much as possible. McGregor has a clear advantage when the two men are standing, as the Irishman has a knack for the knockout with 17 in 22 professional bouts in his career. His fights flat out never go to the cards, and he's going to hope this one isn't an exception.

That said, McGregor has to be really careful about staying on his feet. All three of his losses in his career have been via submission, and his rate of success after getting knocked down are small. He's got a fantastic power game while he's on his feet, and when he's on top of a foe, it's all over, but Diaz has definitely exposed a hole in his game, and that's why this matchup is expected to be a lot closer for betting purposes than the original fight.

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will be the showcase act for UFC 202, the second major UFC Pay-Per-View event in a span of just two months to be held at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2016.
