Soccer Odds - Orlando City vs. LA Galaxy Match Preview

2017-MLS-Orlando-City-vs.-LA-Galaxy-(FOX)-Betting-Odds

Not only has Orlando City won all three of its matches in its brand new stadium, but it has done so while conceding just one goal in the process. "The Wall" has proven to be one of the toughest fixtures in the MLS to try to combat, as the purple-clad fans really have gotten into this sport in a hurry in the City Beautiful. The LA Galaxy are going to learn that the hard way on Saturday afternoon in what could be a hot, sticky mess of a match in the dead of afternoon.

At 2:30 p.m. ET, tune into FOX for live television coverage of this MLS match on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Orlando City Stadium.

Odds Analysis

We're not sure if OCSC is really ready to jump into the top echelon of MLS teams quite yet, but its play at home has made it impossible to bet against while playing in front of "The Wall." The Lions are set at +115 on the moneyline, and one could argue that's an incredibly generous offer for a team that has been so darn good and a bit magical on their home pitch.

The total of 2.5 is slightly shaded towards the over with -125 juice.

Key Injuries

Orlando City is dealing with a lot of issues at the moment. Matias Perez Garcia has been suspended for three matches for violent conduct, and this is going to be his first fixture out. That comes with Tony Rocha, Kaka, Seb Hines, Rafael Ramos and Jose Aja all out for sure due to injuries, while Antonio Nocerino has a calf problem that has kept him out of training this week.

The Galaxy were dealt a tough blow a couple weeks back when Sebastian Lletget, while playing for the USMNT, picked up a bad Achilles injury that will effectively cost him the rest of the season. He and Robbie Rogers are the only two notable injuries for LA.

Recent Form

We mentioned the three Orlando City victories at home already, but we didn't mention the fact that this team has only been beaten once. When the Lions go out on the road, they're going to be a different team in a big time way, and that was proven by a 2-0 loss at MAPFRE Stadium against Columbus.

Notoriously good at home and terrible on the road, the Galaxy have sort of flipped their own script this year. They've been beaten at the StubHub Center twice already this season, yet one of their two victories came on the road at Real Salt Lake. The form has been a little better for LA of late after the team beat Montreal at home last Friday, but this is the first trip to the East Coast and could be a dangerous one.

We just don't know what either team is going to have in the tank for this match. The aging Galaxy often complain of the long road trips, and it doesn't get much worse than this, particularly playing in a stadium that is already being discussed as one of the toughest in the MLS to go to. We haven't seen the thick of summer in a heat box stadium either, but the temperatures on the pitch should be well beyond 100 on Saturday afternoon.

All told, with all of the OCSC injuries, it's having a hard time generating offense as well, and that, to us, screams for a match that is going to be 90 slogging minutes without much in the way of offense. If both teams get out of here with a goal and a point, it’s hard to say that that wouldn't be considered a success. The under feels like the right play with just one of the four Orlando City matches getting to three goals on the season.
