Two of the MLS’ best teams will face off on Sunday when Los Angeles FC heads up I-5 to take on the Seattle Sounders. The Sounders looked like the best team in the league through the first month of the season, but LAFC currently has the league’s best record and has lit the league on fire with its goal scoring prowess. These two teams played just last week, and LAFC dominated the affair in a 4-1 win in Los Angeles. Carlos Vela notched a brace, while Eduard Atuesta and Christian Ramirez added goals for the hosts. Seattle could only muster a goal from Harry Shipp, so the Sounders are hoping that home field advantage will turn the tide in their favor.

Odds Analysis
LAFC are on pace to have a record-setting offense. This team has notched 25 goals through nine matches, and they are just blasting teams. They are averaging a goal differential of +2 per game, and this team has crushed other contenders like Portland and DC United. LAFC are looking to not repeat what happened the last time they ventured into the Pacific Northwest, as they suffered a 1-0 loss to lowly Vancouver last Wednesday.
Seattle’s only loss of the year came against LAFC. The Sounders other two non-victories were draws against Vancouver and San Jose, and they have largely crushed teams at home. The club is 4-1-0 in Seattle this season with quality wins over Toronto FC and Real Salt Lake.
Key Absences
The visitors will be without one of their top players as forward Adama Diomande has missed the last three games after going down with a hamstring injury in the first half against DC United in early April. There is no timetable on his return. Midfielder Andre Horta is out with a right quad strain, while forward Rodolfo Zelaya is listed as questionable.
Forward Will Bruin is slated to miss this match for Seattle because of a strained hamstring, and fellow forward Raul Ruidiaz is questionable due to a heel issue. Defender Chad Marshall has an inflamed knee and is questionable too.
Matchup to Watch
These two teams can light up the scoreboard, and this game could turn into a shootout. Carlos Vela has been the best player in the league through the first two months of the season with a league high 10 goals and five assists. Only one of those goals has come from the penalty spot, so that shows how well this offense is functioning. Diego Rossi has six goals up front for LAFC too.
There has been much more diverse scoring for Seattle. Kelvin Leerdam, Jordan Morris, and Ruidiaz all have three goals, and the Sounders use more of a free flowing attack to beat defenses. LAFC has allowed just seven goals in nine games though.
Prop Bet of the Week – Draw and Over 3.5 Goals +644
I’m swinging for the fences with this one. These teams should both be able to score, and I think we are going to see some fireworks. I’m taking this option rather than betting on a 2-2 draw specifically because I don’t want to lose out if the match ends 3-3.

The over is my favorite bet in this match, as I don’t think LAFC will be able to hold Seattle’s fearsome attack at bay on the road.
Major League Soccer Odds: Seattle Sounders 2, Los Angeles FC 2
