NFL Week 5 Parlay Picks

I said after going 2-1 on my Week 3 NFL parlay picks that a winning ticket was right around the corner. It turned out I was right. My three picks hit last week when sports betting with bitcoin giving me my first winner of the season. The handsome payout associated with a winning parlay gives you some wiggle room when it comes time to making wagers. You don’t need to win as often as say a teaser, which has a lower payout due to buying points in your favor. Winning a three-team parlay isn’t easy, which is why the odds are so good, and it’s a good feeling when that ticket pays off. It helps when betting on the NFL to keep an ear open to injury reports. A few more quarterbacks went down in Week 4, though the injuries aren’t considered serious. Let’s keep the heater on parlay picks going into Week 5 of the NFL season.

I hit a pair of winners in the early Sunday window with the Ravens winning outright and the game between two of the worst defensive clubs in the NFL going over the total. I bought the Ravens at +3 and they devoured the Browns, who played without Deshaun Watson, 28-3. The other game didn’t disappoint going over the 46.5 point total in Denver’s comeback 31-28 win. I backed the Cowboys -6.5 in the late window and that game wasn’t close with Dallas romping 38-3.

Bills -5.5

Texans +2

Bengals -3

They may not have the best record in the NFL but I don’t think there’s a team hotter than the Buffalo Bills right now. That opening day loss to the Jets may have been the best thing that happened to them since they won three in a row since that setback dominating teams in the process. There may have been a collective sigh of relief in that loss to the Jets when Aaron Rodgers was lost early in the contest. And opening the door even slightly is something other NFL teams can take advantage of. The Bills learned their lesson and Josh Allen has taken much better care of the football in the past three games leading Buffalo to outlast their last three victims by a combined score of 123-33 with three payouts.

Allen had his best game of the season in last week’s 48-20 win over previously unbeaten Miami throwing for 320 yards on 21 of 25 passing with four touchdowns. During the Bills’ winning streak Allen has eight touchdown passes with just one interception. He tossed three picks and lost a fumble yet the Bills still took the Jets to OT before succumbing 22-16. The Jags have potential to be good on offense, but they haven’t been allowing me to back Buffalo minus the points.

I’m jumping on the Texans’ bandwagon after their impressive win over Pittsburgh last week evened their record at 2-2. C.J. Stroud looks like the best of the three rookie QBs taken at the top of the last NFL Draft with his 1,212 passing yards ranking him fourth in the NFL. What’s been more impressive is that he has yet to throw an interception. The Texans scored at least 30 points in each of their last two games after reaching that number just once all last season. They’ve been solid defensively as well over the last two and a half games yielding just 23 points in that span. The turnaround started in the second of the Week 2 game when the Texans blanked Indianapolis.

At no point did I anticipate the Bengals and Arizona Cardinals to have the same record. But after four weeks here we are with both clubs at 1-3. This is a pivotal contest for Joe Burrow and Cincy, who had Super Bowl aspirations after reaching the Big Game two years and just falling short of a return appearance last season. They opened the 2022 campaign with two straight setbacks and were 2-3 after five weeks before rattling off 10 wins in their final 11 games. Cincy knows what it takes and though he’s been limited with a calf injury that prevented him from fully participating in training camp, Burrow can break out of his slump in a big way against a philanthropic Cardinals defense.
