2016-The-Amazing-Race-Betting-Odds

This season is just a mess. A betting man (or woman) wouldn't be foolhardy enough to plunk down coin on this motley crew, as it is nearly impossible to predict who may win a given challenge, never mind the whole thing. But that's the fun of it, no?

Once at this week's destination island, each team had to snorkel below the surface to find their clue. There were three clue boxes with a few clues inside each, which meant the earlier teams had a slight advantage.

Cole swam to all three boxes before he realized what was up; Kurt didn’t figure things out until Matt surfaced with a tube, so by then he at least knew what to look for; and Mattstillhadn’t figured it out even after emerging from the water with the cluein his hands.

Once the teams had gotten their clues, it was time for...drum-roll...DETOUR: HAUL VS. HARVEST.

In Harvest, the teams had to canoe along a marked course, collecting enough seaweed to fully cover a large tarp when they lay it out to dry. And in Haul, they had to transfer four chickens and 50 coconuts across a suspension bridge. Interestingly, every single team chose Haul! That doesn’t happen that often with five teams still left in the race.

Team Torey got there first and they averaged a 5-coconut/2-chicken carry between the two of them, until their chickens were finished, and then five or six coconuts each until they completed their haul.

Next up it was: ROAD BLOCK: A DROP IN THE OCEAN where one member of each team was instructed to climb up a cliff and jump down into the water four stories below.

1: TEAM TOREY— Beating the Gamers by moments, Tyler and Korey won a trip for two on an Alaskan cruise, with an assist from…

2: THE GAMERS— Theirfifthsecond-place finish.

3: THE DANCERS

4: TEAM ALABAMA

ELIMINATED: FRISBEE BOYS— But they went out on a sweet note, telling each other it was, and I quote, “a pleasure, dude,” and saying while this is one of the tougher losses of their Frisbee-related careers, it was all still worth it. Their sportsmanship, sadly, outshined their actual skills.

The Gamers cannot seem to land in that coveted top slot, which begs the question: do they have what it takes to win the big prize? Meantime, Team Torey basically slipped one past the goalie, wherein it could have just as easily been The Dancers or Team Alabama. In short, there is no clear victor...yet. In the coming weeks that will hopefully change, or this is all a roll of the dice come season finale time.
