June 25, 2016

Barclays Center, Brooklyn New York

Shawn Porter +180

Keith Thurman -210

Coverage: CBS, 9 p.m.

Welterweight champion Keith Thurman - 26-0, 22 KOs - and former titleholder Shawn Porter - 26-1-1, 16 KOs - have been friends since they were amateurs. This Saturday, they’ll have to put their friendship aside in a contender bout in New York. The bout marks Thurman’s third defense of the 147-pound title. Porter most recently scored an upset against Adrien Broner, garnering some real momentum prior to the fight.

Both men will seek to grab some of the spotlight in a division formerly ruled by superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fact that both men are fan-friendly fighters should make this an exciting bout.

June 24, 2016

Wests Rugby League Club, Sydney, Australia

Renold Quinlan +520

Daniel Geale -720

Coverage: Local

Daniel Geale - 31-4, 16 KOs - will make his super middleweight debut in his home country against fellow native Renold Quinlan - 10-1, 6 KOs - with the vacant IBO super middleweight title at stake. Geale has lost two of his past three, but those defeats came at the hands of Hall of Famer Miguel Cotto and the unstoppable Gennady Golovkin.

Just 26, Quinlan is coming off a good -- for him anyway -- 2015 where he won minor IBO and WBA belts with easy wins over Ricardo Marcelo Ramallo and Michael Van Nimwegen. Because of his lack of experience against notable fighters, he’s a huge underdog coming into the bout.

June 24, 2016

Capital Gym, Beijing, China

Jason Sosa +900

Javier Fortuna -1500

Coverage: TBD

Junior lightweight world champion Javier Fortuna - 29-0-1, 21 KOs - will defend his title for the second time against Jason Sosa - 18-1-4, 14 KOs this Friday in Beijing. Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Fortuna won the vacant secondary title with a win over Bryan Vasquez this past May. In his first defense, he knocked out Carlos Ivan Velasquez in the 10th round.

His opponent, Jason Sosa, held a 13-fight knockout streak until this past December, when he battled to a draw against former featherweight world title challenger Nicholas Walters. However, most watching the fight that Walters had easily won.

June 25, 2016

The Bomb Factory, Dallas, Texas

Brian Vera +800

Matt Korobov -1300

Coverage: TBD

Former world title challenger Matt Korobov - 25-1, 14 KOs - will try to stay relevant against journeyman Bryan Vera - 23-10, 14 KOs - on the Mike Alvarado vs. Josh Torres fight card this Saturday. In an effort to change it up, Korobov will fight at super middleweight instead of middleweight.

Although Vera has wins over Sergio Mora and Andy Lee, he’s looked completely unmotivated in the recent years, notably losing his last four bouts against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. -- twice -- Willie Monroe Jr. and Rocky Fielding.
