Chinese Benevolent Association Auditorium, Kingston, Jamaica

TV: TBA

Demarcus Corley -425

Revlon Lake +310

Former world champion Demarcus Corley will fight for the fourth time this year against Guyana’s Revlon Lake in a junior welterweight contest in Jamaica. At 37, Lake is coming off a an upset win over Anthony Woods and will look to ride the momentum against the former WBO champ.

A southpaw, Corley has been in the ring with the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Miguel Cotto, Zab Judah and Junior Witter. But his prime came a long time ago -- he won the vacant championship in June 2001 against Felix Flores. Now 41, “Chop Chop” is still skilled enough to beat midlevel opposition like Lake, but his time at the top is long gone.

Interim WBA welterweight championship

David Avanesyan vs. Shane Mosley

ODDS COMING SOON

At 45, “Sugar” Shane Mosley will be fighting for another world title -- although it’s hard to make the argument that he deserves it. The most notable win he’s notched in the past few years is probably a sixth round knockout over a creaky, overweight Ricardo Mayorga in September 2015. In his last fight, he knocked out an unknown Patrick Lopez in the 10th round.

But Mosley’s opponent, Russia’s David Avanesyan, doesn’t have much of an argument to be in an interim title fight either. His best wins came against Charlie Navarro, Dean Byrne and Kaizer Mabuza. The story here is whether Mosley has enough to beat a midlevel guy like Avansyan. A fight like this will show us how much he’s got left in the tank.

WBA “Regular” junior welterweight title

Michele Di Rocco +275

Ricky Burns -365

Former two-division world champion Ricky Burns will get another opportunity to hold a title when he faces #2 WBA Michele Di Rocco for the vacant “regular” light welterweight title. It’s interesting to note that while Burns isn’t ranked in the top 15 by any of the sanctioning bodies, he’s a huge favorite going into the bout. Then again, Di Rocco’s record is inflated by weak opposition.

Burns is coming off back-to-back wins against Prince Ofotsu and Josh King -- two fighters that aren’t exactly considered top competition. But those were exactly the types of opponents he needed to fight after having his confidence shattered in losses to Terence Crawford, Dejan Zlaticanin and Omar Figueroa. Di Rocco is somewhere in between those two levels, good enough not to be a scrub, but not an elite opponent.
