MAIN EVENT

Scott Quigg +155

Carl Frampton -180

PREDICTION: Frampton UD Quigg

Quigg has moved five points from +160 to +155, indicating that more action is coming in on the Lancashire native. Since 2012, Quigg has been a top fighter at 122 pounds, claiming the world title in October 2013. Thus far, he’s made six successful title defenses, including his most recent second-round TKO over Kiko Martinez last July.

Frampton defended his IBF title twice in 2015 and will look to continue that trend in his first fight of the year. His last outing was a 12-round UD over Alejandro Gonzalez on the same July card that Quigg fought on. As the clear favorite in the bout, Frampton is making sure not to overlook his opponent.

“I don’t wanna take Scott Quigg lightly. I don’t want people to think I’m looking passive. I’m not. I’m training very, very hard for this fight. But me on my best - if I put in 100 percent performance, if I put in the best performance I can and Scott Quigg puts in the best performance he can, then I win the fight and it’s not even close. So it’s about me and how I perform, because I know if I perform my best there’s only one winner.”

I think Frampton has a point, even though we can’t ever take pre-fight talk too seriously. Frampton is probably the toughest opponent that Quigg has faced to date, and I just don’t see the Englishman rising to his level. At -180, Frampton to win is a good value play.

Featherweights

Marco McCullough -110

Isaac Lowe -120

PREDICTION: McCullough UD Lowe

In another Ireland vs. England bout, Belfast’s Marco McCullough will meet Morecambe’s Isaac Lowe in a matchup for the Commonwealth featherweight title. McCollough is a slight favorite, but the matchup is pretty much a pick’em according to the odds at BookMaker. At just 22, Lowe is an unbeaten prospect who’s coming off a draw with Ryan Doyle in his last outing.

McCollough is 14-2 with 9 KO and is riding a two-fight winning streak. While he first started his career as a brawler, he’s since evolved and has displayed a more patient approach in his recent bouts.

Flyweights

Luke Wilton +3000

Charlie Edwards -6500

PREDICTION: Edwards UD Wilton

In a flyweight title eliminator, Luke Wilton - another Belfast boxer - will meet London’s Charlie Edwards. Just 22 years old, Edwards is already an English champion with a 6-0 record. However, Edwards is 16-4-1, with more than three times the professional experience. That likely won’t matter though, as you can see by the odds.
