Conor McGregor +325

Floyd Mayweather Jr. -450

Rounds 8.5 (under -135)

Mayweather Wins by KO, TKO or DQ -160

The odds on Mayweather winning by knockout have gone down since opening, although not to the same extent that the overall odds have moved. Mayweather has said he is going to go right at McGregor and look for the knockout, but that may simply be “talk,” as Mayweather has not knocked out anyone in almost six years. Bettors reacted to Mayweather’s “talk” when the odds on this prop were first released, as the odds were more than -200, but that is no longer the case.

Mayweather Wins by Decision +180

This is an interesting prop, as you can get almost 2-1 on Mayweather winning by decision, something he does with regularity. The last time Mayweather won by knockout was 2011. The hype has been all about one of the two fighters winning by knockout, but the value may be on Mayweather winning by decision, as it would be considered a win-win for both fighters, with Mayweather winning but with McGregor taking the champion the distance.

McGregor Wins by KO, TKO or DQ +400

The odds on this prop are only going to go down; as if McGregor wins it should be by knockout. The odds on this prop are actually better than the overall fight odds for McGregor winning. McGregor has been promising for weeks that he is going to get a first or second round knockout. If you believe what he says, you can get +400 on this prop.

An interesting story that might affect this prop is the glove size. The Nevada Athletic Commission is allowing 8-ounce gloves instead of 10-ounce gloves. McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh said McGregor will win the fight in the first round with 8-0ounce gloves, while McGregor is predicting a second round KO.

McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy said that Mayweather made a mistake agreeing to the smaller glove size. “I don’t know whether he put that out there and now it’s backfired,” Roddy said to MMA Fighting. “I honestly think he’s said some stuff over the period of the camp, that I think he just put out there not thinking it would stick and it has stuck. He’s made a few mistakes.”

McGregor Wins by Decision +1500

It would be a complete shock if McGregor won a decision, so there does not seem to be much value in taking this prop, even at odds of +1500. McGregor simply does not have the boxing skill to win a decision unless the judges are in the tank.

Draw +3500

If you believe boxing is fixed, and many people do, then the draw is an interesting option. On paper there should be no chance of this fight ending in a draw, as Mayweather is the far better fighter, while McGregor has more power. It should end with either McGregor getting a knockout or Mayweather winning by decision, but since when do the judges actually score a fight properly?

You may not remember when one of the greatest fighters of all-time Muhammad Ali fought Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki, but it did happen in 1976 and it was an ugly mess, with Ali showboating and Inoki going for leg kicks. That fight went 15 rounds and was called a draw.
