MLB Thursday, March 30 Parlay Picks

The 2023 Major League Baseball season begins on Thursday with all 30 teams in action. As we look to start the season with MLB parlay winners there are a few things to keep in mind. First, early in the season the pitching matchups won’t be as important as they will be in a few weeks, as starters are still fine tuning things and won’t go much more than 5 or 6 innings. Second, we won’t know the exact prices on the games, so we’ll just list the teams in the parlays. That being said, let’s get to our first MLB parlays of the season with a three-team parlay, a two-team parlay and a two-team MLB totals parlay.

MLB Parlay Picks for Thursday, March 30, 2023

MLB Parlay #1

Atlanta Braves

Did you notice the pitching matchup in this one? It is Max Fried against Patrick Corbin. The Braves not only have the edge in terms of hitting, they also have the edge on the mound. The Nationals have lost the last 10 times with Corbin on the mound against the Braves. Until Corbin shows me he can beat Atlanta, I’ll keep taking the Braves when he is on the mound.

Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays host the Tigers on Thursday afternoon and one of the pitchers I like to back on a regular basis is on the mound. Tampa is set to go with Shane McClanahan and he is one of the more underrated pitchers in the game. Oddsmakers don’t give him enough respect and the Rays continue to go under the radar. I’ll take the Rays as the second team in this parlay.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays looked loaded this season and they start the season with Alex Manoah on the mound in St. Louis. I know the Cardinals are supposed to be a good team, but I am not sold on the pitching of St. Louis. The Cardinals are going with Miles Mikolas as their opening day starter and I am not sold he is a front line starter. I think the Blue Jays have the edge in hitting and in pitching in this one, so I will take Toronto.

MLB Parlay #2

Houston Astros

I this parlay we’ll just make it a two-teamer and go with two teams from the American League West. The Astros begin the season as the defending champs and they look to be loaded again this season. Houston has the edge against the White Sox, plus they are playing at home. Framber Valdez doesn’t get the respect he deserves, as he is capable of being an ace. I’ll take the Astros as the first team of this parlay.

Los Angeles Angels

The Angels have the great Shohei Ohtani going in this one against a really bad Oakland team. It is never a bad idea this season if you go against the A’s in a parlay, as Oakland is going to lose a lot of games. It is hard to understand what the A’s are doing, as they aren’t even rebuilding, they are just getting worse. I’ll take the Angels in this one.

MLB Totals Parlay

Rockies-Padres Over

I know this game is in San Diego, so we won’t get the benefit of the altitude in Colorado, but I think Blake Snell is one of the most overrated pitchers in the game. He goes for the Padres in this one and I see no reason that Colorado can’t get to him for a few runs. You have to think the potent San Diego lineup will put up some runs against Marquez, so I’ll go over the total in this one.

Indians-Mariners under

The pitching matchup in this one has Shane Bieber going against Luis Castillo. It doesn’t get much better than that, with the ace of each staff going. Neither team is known for having a potent offense and each team has a good bullpen to back up their starters. It also helps that the Indians seem to go under a lot when Bieber is on the mound. Cleveland has gone under the total in four of Bieber’s five career starts against the Mariners. I’ll go under with Cleveland and Seattle.
