Zippo 200 at the Glen Betting OddsNASCAR Betting Online: Road courses on the NASCAR circuit are typically some of the harder ones to try to handicap. There are always specialists who try their hand at tracks like Watkins Glen even though they aren't regulars, and they often end up being real competitors in races which they otherwise wouldn't even run in or be serious contenders.

That's going to be the case at the Zippo 200 at The Glen, a race which will take place this year on Saturday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Live television coverage of the race can be found on CNBC.

There are only 82 laps which are run to cover the 200.9 miles at Watkins Glen in the Zippo 200 at The Glen, and that makes for some interesting racing for sure. Every caution kills that many more racing laps, and the end results are usually fairly unpredictable.

Take Marcos Ambrose, for example. He's a driver who hasn't had the best history in the world either on the Monster Cup circuit or in the XFINITY Series. However, he's won the Zippo 200 at The Glen four times in the last eight years.

The season circuit drivers love partaking in the Zippo 200 at The Glen to give them a little bit more experience on one of the trickier courses in NASCAR, so it isn't a surprise that many of them are winners at this level as well. Joey Logano won this race last year, and the other winners dating back to 2011 include Ambrose, Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch. Outside of Ambrose, all of these drivers are regulars in the Chase for the Monster Cup each and every year.

Busch and Ambrose are the only drivers who have won this race multiple times who are active. Busch won the Zippo 200 at The Glen back in 2006 as well as logging his triumph in 2011.

How to bet on Nascar ZIPPO 200

The odds of a driver to win the ZIPPO 200 will generally look something like:

  • Jeff Gordon + 200
  • Mark Martin + 250
  • Jeff Burton + 300
  • Bill Elliott + 700
  • Robby Gordon + 700
  • Field + 500

These betting odds will be lower when betting on a driver to finish in the top three, as the sportsbook must pay off three different winning bets.

A player would have to bet $10 to win $20 that Jeff Gordon will win the ZIPPO 200, while the bettor wagering on Bill Elliott stands to win $70 on their $10 wager.

Another commonly placed bet in NASCAR is head-to-head finish between two drivers. With this bet, a player doesn't really care what place the driver finishes in, as long as the driver finishes higher than the other driver.

A head-to-head betting line for the ZIPPO 200 will look something like:

  • Mark Martin - 130 Jeff Burton + 110

In this bet, players wagering on Martin to finish higher than Burton will be asked to risk $13 to win $10, while bettors believing that Burton will finish higher than Martin will bet $10 to win $11.

Those familiar with sports betting will have no trouble making the transition to NASCAR wagering, while those new to the world of sports betting should be able to pick up the concepts of NASCAR betting without too much hassle.
