2014 Zippo 200 Winner - Marcos Ambrose holds off Kyle Busch at Zippo 200

Marcos Ambrose won the NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen on Saturday, leading the race for 48 laps and edging out Kyle Busch for the crucial victory.

Ambrose held off a determined Kyle Busch down the stretch. Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth rounded out the top five. Rookie Chase Elliott was the highest-finishing Nationwide regular in sixth.

The victory was Ambrose's first in Nationwide since 2011 and his fifth overall, with all coming on road courses. A two-time Cup winner at Watkins Glen, Ambrose is the favorite to win Sunday's Cheez-It 355.

Ambrose notched his fourth victory at a Nationwide Series event at Watkins Glen International.

Defending Zippo 200 champion Brad Keselowski stayed near the front of the pack for the entire contest, eventually finishing in fourth place.

2013 Zippo 200 Winner - Keselowski rolls to Nationwide win at Watkins Glen

Four-for-four is a great day on the baseball diamond. It's an even better day on the race track. Just ask Brad Keselowski, who won his fourth straight NASCAR Nationwide Series race Saturday at Watkins Glen International.

Keselowski's 1.418-second victory over Penske Racing teammate Sam Hornish Jr. in the Zippo 200 was his fourth in his last four NNS starts this season (though not in consecutive events) and the 24th of his career.

Brian Vickers ran third, followed by Regan Smith and Elliott Sadler. Hornish cut the series lead of 12th-place finisher Austin Dillon to three points as the drivers head for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the second straight road-course venue, next weekend.

Given the strength of his No. 22 Ford Mustangs, Keselowski feels he can win any time he gets behind the wheel, and Saturday's result bore that out.

2012 Zippo 200 at the Glen Winner - Carl Edwards wins 2012 Nationwide Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen Int'l

Carl Edwards, 32, in the #60 Subway Ford, won the 2012 Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International on Saturday. The win is the first of the season for Edwards and the first victory and top-10 showing in his eight races at The Glen, according to NASCAR.

Mr. Edwards beat out Brad Keselowski in his #22 SKF/Discount Tire Dodge, who came in second and Sam Hornish, Jr., who started the race in pole position in his #12 PPG Dodge but came in third.

Asked about his victory, Mr. Edwards said, "This win means a lot." He continued, "We had virtually no practice. Just a really fun race. Really hard racing for the win."

About the challenges of The Glen's road course, Edwards commented, "The starts here are very difficult," with the slope downhill and then the 90-degree Turn 1. "You have to pick your braking points very carefully."

The racer said he thought today's win will help his run in the Sprint Cup Series on Sunday in the Finger Lakes 355. "It's nice to win races," he said. However, he indicated, "Sometimes even the best performances don't get a trophy." Today, he didn't think he had his best performance, yet he got the trophy.
