Serie A Betting Odds

If Inter Milan aren’t careful, they could end up falling out of the top four. Internazionale have dropped from third to fourth in the table, and they can’t afford to fall any further if they want to be in the Champions League next season. They are now just three points ahead of fifth place Roma in the table, and they will be looking to further their lead this weekend against lowly SPAL. Inter are heavy favorites entering this one.

Odds Analysis

SPAL have not picked up a win since January 27, and they are in danger of being relegated. Staying up would be a huge accomplishment considering they have went bankrupt and were forced to rebrand twice this century, and this is just their second season in the top flight over the last 50 years. SPAL are five points clear of the drop and have Empoli one point behind them as a cushion, but they need more results to feel good about their chances.

Over the last six weeks, Inter have been a middling team with middling results. In Serie A, they are 2-2-3 over their last seven matches, and that has led to city rivals AC Milan surpassing them in the standings. Inter suffered a tough loss to Cagliari last week despite firing 25 shots in the match, but it is tough to win in Sardinia.

Injury Report

Thiago Cionek will not be available to play in this game for SPAL after picking up a suspension following a red card in the seventh minute of extra time in a loss to Sampdoria last weekend. Manuel Lazzari has missed three straight matches with an undisclosed injury, and he is considered questionable to play for the visitors here.

Matias Vecino has been suspended for this match due to yellow card accumulation, and Inter are also without Sime Vrsaljko for the remainder of the season. Mauro Icardi is doubtful after missing four straight matches due to inflammation in his knee, while Keita Balde has also missed four straight matches but is questionable with a thigh injury. Andrea Palazzi is questionable with a calf issue.

Player to Watch

Andrea Petagna has had a pretty good season considering SPAL’s struggles. Petagna is one of nine players with at least 10 goals in Serie A, and his ability to make things happen has been pivotal for a club without many resources or playmakers. He will be asked to create even more this time considering the injury to SPAL’s best player, Lazzari, and his play will be huge if SPAL are to pick up a surprising result.

Serie A Prop Bet – Inter Milan First Half -0.5 at -112

It’s high time for Inter to put a team away. Although they have a midweek game on the road against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, they will have plenty of time to recover. Inter have not finished off a team early in quite some time, and they are due considering their talent advantage in this one.

Free Soccer Betting Pick

This is a tough spot for SPAL to get a result. Inter have their backs against the wall in a way, and SPAL just don’t have the horses. That’s especially the case if Lazarri doesn’t play. He has been the team’s set-up man this season, and without him its hard to see SPAL getting a goal.

Italian Serie A Odds: Inter Milan 2, SPAL 0
