Soccer Odds - Tottenham vs. Everton Match Preview

2017-Soccer-Tottenham-vs.-Everton-Betting-Spreads

Even though Manchester City has a game in hand on much of the top competitors in the EPL, Tottenham is the team that enters this weekend the closest to Chelsea. The Spurs are 10 adrift though, and they know they're basically competing for second best at this point. Everton though, realizes that it still has an opportunity, albeit a small one, to finish in the Top 4, and that might come down to how well it plays at the Lane on Sunday morning.

Don't miss the BPL action from White Hart Lane at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Catch every moment of the match live on NBC Sports Network.

Odds Analysis

The Spurs are a tremendous 11-2-0 at home this year and have conceded just five goals, making it incredibly hard to bet against them. White Hart Lane is a legitimate fortress, and it's almost surprising that the number to pick up three points with the hosts is set at just -160.

Everton doesn't really feel live at +465 on the moneyline, but the +1 price on the Asian Handicap definitely doesn't feel out of reach either for a squad that has eight results in 13 away matches in this term.

The total is rather drab at 2.5 with -120 vig on the over.

Key Injuries

We don't talk a lot about the job that Ronald Koeman has done this year with the Toffees, but considering the fact that both Muhamed Besic and Yannick Bolasie have been out of the fold for months at this point and the team still has a real shot at the Top 4 is remarkable. That said, Everton is healthy aside from its long term absentees at the moment, and that's about all this squad can hope for.

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen were both taken off in the second half last weekend against Stoke City, and those injuries have to be a bit concerning. Both though, seem like they're no worse for wear and should be in the Starting XI for the Spurs.

Recent Form

You might not realize it, but Everton is unbeaten in the EPL since a December 16 loss at home to Liverpool. The Toffees have had their hiccups in there for sure, but the trend is generally upward with 17 points out of a possible 21 acquired in the new year. The latest effort was a good one against Sunderland, a 2-0 victory at home that erased the memories of a bad scoreless draw at Middlesbrough two weeks prior.

Tottenham might have been bounced out of the Europa League by KAA Gent, but at least it doesn't have to worry about needless European fixtures anymore. The team came back focused against Stoke City on Sunday and posted a 4-0 victory after the disappointment against the Belgium team.

Free Soccer Betting Pick

Don't look now, but three points in this match could reasonably leave Everton just three back of Liverpool for fifth and five back of Arsenal for fourth.

This is an uphill battle for sure for the Toffees, and we don't think they're going to be quite up to the challenge of taking all three points at White Hart Lane. But with the form that Romelu Lukaku is in at the moment, would you put an early strike past him and his mates? We sure wouldn't. The Spurs will answer and get out of this one with a point, but it will again add to the separation between Chelsea and the rest of the field, especially if the Blues do as they should and beat West Ham away on Monday night.

BPL Odds: Tottenham 1, Everton 1
